You Can't Kill Stephen King
April. 14,2012 NRSiblings Monroe (Monroe Mann) and Hilary (Crystal Arnette) have discovered that they have inherited a lake house and to make things even better, the famous horror author Stephen King is rumoured to live somewhere nearby. They decide to take their friends down to the lake house to check things out, only to find immediate resistance from all of the locals, who insist that King doesn't live in the area. Despite being completely unwelcome, they decide to stay and soon find that people are being killed one by one in a manner similar to several deaths in various Stephen King stories.

So much average
Entertaining from beginning to end, it maintains the spirit of the franchise while establishing it's own seal with a fun cast
There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.
This movie seemed promising but it is just stupid, awful acting and an awful script and awful movie production but not in the fun, funny way you would want in a movie like this. Too bad, it could have been great with a fun premise like this.
I appreciate that 'slasher' films have become a bit 'old hat' these days. Most B-movies in the genre don't even try to come up with anything more original than some masked loon stalking and murdering a bunch of over-sexed teenagers. However, with 'You Can't Kill Stephen King' at least the makers tried to do something a little different. For a start, they injected a little humour into the film. If you're looking for a straight horror, you won't find it here. It's definitely black comedy-horror all the way. They also try and play on the obviously clichés and conventions you'd expect to find within this type of film and go some way to turn them on their heads and exploit them. For all that, the film is actually quite enjoyable, as a group of teens travel off the beaten path in small-town America in an attempt to track down their icon, none other than Stephen King himself. However, as you might expect, they start falling victim to an unseen assailant. And here lies the main problem... you can subvert a few clichés and add a bit of humour, but what you're left with is a pretty run-of-the-mill slasher film. Although some parts of it are fun, it still doesn't succeed in being different enough to really raise it above the thousands of similar movies (some of which are played straight, others not). So, despite all the good intentions, all you have is an average slasher movie. If you're really desperate to see what is little more than a 'modern Friday 13th type film' then give this one a go, or if you're a die-hard fan of Stephen King you should enjoy all the homages to him. But, ultimately, there's not enough that's new here to really recommend this film over the countless others like it.http://thewrongtreemoviereviews.blogspot.co.uk/
Saw this at theater in Tokyo with friends. I'm a big Stephen King fan and liked all the references placed through the story. It was a good mix of horror film and comedy. There were multiple times I laughed out loud. The acting was really good. The scary scene in the woods was so scary I had to hide my eyes. I also liked the music. Reminded me of The Shinning, one of my favorite movies. There were so many times I was able to say what movie lines and story points were from different Stephen King movies, and even books. Made the movie even more fun.If you have the chance, see it. Very good film!
Now i'm all for a good comedy/thriller/horror. a "good" one. These types of movies only really target a certain type of audience, If you're into scary movie, scream and any other spoof movie that has been made then this is the movie for you! BUT if you enjoy a good, quality, meaningful movie with real actors and actresses. Look somewhere else. I am a fan of Stephen King and unfortunately made the mistake of getting this movie out, fortunately I work at a video store so I waited until the end of my shift and took it out for free. I wouldn't waste a cent on this and I'm sure the producers did not spend a cent making it. To be fair though, I did not watch all of it and there was a reason for that. SO, are you the kind of person that likes low budget movies and actors that nobody knows?
