Real estate rising star Molly, who breaks up with Jackson, a smitten but seeming underachiever, on Valentine’s Day because he may have lied to her. Molly moves to New Mexico for a high-profile promotion and soon finds herself close to being engaged to the generous but immature Greg. When a casino-owning dog named Charlie is murdered by his rival Carface, he finds himself in Heaven basically by default since all dogs go to heaven. However, since he wants to get back at his killer, he cons his way back to the living with the warning that doing that damns him to Hell. Once back, he teams with his old partner, Itchy, to prep his retaliation. He also stumbles onto an orphan girl who can talk to the animals, thus allowing him to get the inside info on the races to ensure his wins to finance his plans. However, all the while, he is still haunted by nightmares of what's waiting for him on the other side unless he can prove that he is worthy of Heaven again.

This is the 2nd. time I've watched this movie and it made me laugh out loud both times. I love it. Romeo is so good, he really does make the movie! Great chemistry between all the actors, they are good! I keep thinking I'm watching Meghan Ory though---is Emanuelle Vaugier her twin?? A good way to spend a dreary winter day and to have your spirits lifted.

Believable characters. Funny and yet heartfelt. Good intertwining plot schemes. Some nice twists. I really liked Matthew MacCaul's acting in this movie. A lesser man wouldn't have been able to pull off such a deep character. Even when the character is desperate he is still likable and the audience is always rooting for him. His sincere expressions bring the love story to life. Well done.
