Sorry, this movie sucks
Save your money for something good and enjoyable
I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible
It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
Raised in the harsh slums of Romania, Victor knows the value of life more than most, which makes him the perfect killer. After being betrayed by the men who made him, he fakes his own death and escapes to London where he joins a new gangster family and finds his rules are again put to the test in the midst of a vicious underworld power struggle. With the secrets of his past refusing to fade away, It is not long before a deadly threat from a past he thought long buried surfaces and he is forced to change his path.......I'm a huge fan of Luke Goss, I think he has a lot of potential to be in the second coming of straight to DVD action movies along with Adkins, and of course favourites like Van Damme, Seagal, and Lundgren. But this is a huge step back, reminding me of the mid-noughties, when every ST-DVD action movie was almost insufferable.Remember Flight Of Fury, Second In Command, The Detanator? You can throw this in that camp also. It's nothing to do with Goss, he's as good as he ever is, and it has a stylish sheen to it, but despite a lot of it being 'filmed' in Romania, a lot of it looks like it was made in a suburb of Leicestershire. It starts of with lots of potential, but goes downhill rapidly.A shame really, it started off well.
The movie is excellent as a functioning thriller that kept me reeled in like a fish on a hook until the end. I simply couldn't stop watching as one seemingly disconnected part of the plot seemed to automatically tie in with the next. Then I realized that I wanted to know more, and find out how the story would eventually end. The only thing I didn't like was that I wish that we would find out more about who the Sergey Crime family was and how why they betrayed Viktor as he was an invaluable asset to them. However for the most part the movie Interview with a Hit-man was a success. It describes a hit-man's life in an objective and clever way that does justice to all the characters and shows that a murderer will never change.
If this movie wasn't a limited release, overseas film, people would be talking about an Academy Award for Best Picture! On the surface it doesn't look like much and the film also starts out painfully slow, but Interview With A Hit-man is an incredible story, with some really imaginative twists in it. The story begins with an aging Director, looking for one more chance to be on top. He finds that chance when one of Interpol's most wanted, a career killer, contacts him, and agrees to tell his story. The Director has to jump through some hoops, but once they sit down, the mysterious man starts to tell the story of his life. The man knows nothing but killing, have working for a variety of organized crime outfits since he was 10 years old. From there, the film plays out like any other mafia film you've ever seen, there are shady deals, rats, set-ups, everything you could possibly want in a film about organized crime. Interview With A Hit-man does take place in Europe though, and can be somewhat confusing. Thick accents and weird names make following the story a bit tricky at times, and that's the only reason this film didn't receive 5 stars. That being said, the ending more than makes up for it, with a twist that you will never see coming. Luke Goss (Red Widow, Death Race) stars as this stone cold killer and does an excellent job, in a role that really wasn't much of a stretch for him. He always plays these cold, calculating people, and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he has killed before, Goss is one scary dude. This is the kind of film that will have you thinking about it long after it's over, something every writer hopes to accomplish. When you're going over the events in your mind days after you've seen the film and you are still in awe of what happened, you know you just saw something very special. Label this one a must see movie, because the story really has everything you could want and more.
Typical tough guy too cool for everything hit man character without emotion except when he sees a woman getting beaten like his mother then he supposedly jumps into righteous hero mode. Predictable and formulated with incessant droning music that makes you want to take a bullet yourself just to end the monotony. And enough with the shaky camera, it literally does not stop quivering for a split second during the whole movie. Even reigning hand held twitchy kings like the Bourne flicks take a break from that once in a while during the story. The twist at the end is not even enough to rescue this flick from an hour and a half exercise in dreariness.
