Synopsis
After more than two-years at River Cottage Australia in picturesque Central Tilba, chef-turned-farmer Paul West has his hands well and truly full as his farm grows into a serious small holding. In the new 8-part series, with mid-winter bearing down on the farm, Paul is struggling to cope with his litter of 18 fast-growing piglets, not to mention 8 mischievous goats, 50 chickens, dairy cattle, ducks and a misbehaving Digger dog.

After months of training it's time for Digger to shine at a local dog competition. To welcome the start of summer Paul hosts a cricket match at River Cottage to raise money for his farm.

Paul learns about foraging for food in natural bush land and catching eels from indigenous local and chef Noel Butler. Then he makes pale ale with local brew master Toby and sells his first eggs and veggie boxes.

Paul goes on a wild bee hunt and builds a hive for the farm, then he picks up whey from a local cheese factory and creates macadamia nut cheese. Paul faces the hard task of taking his pigs to the abattoir.

Paul welcomes visitors to the farm. His Dad arrives for the first time and they go on a camping trip to hunt feral deer. Then the Latimer sisters, who grew up at the farm, drop by and give Paul a history lesson.

Paul West is welcoming eager cooks and wannabe-farmers to teach them the River Cottage lifestyle in an all new season. But it's not just visitors to the farm that Paul's welcomed, he also became a first-time Dad to son, Otto, so to help run the farm and the Cooking School he's taken on an apprentice, a local guy named, Harrison.

Season 2
In the first season of River Cottage Australia, Paul West only scratched the surface of the farm's potential. During his time he tapped into a handful of people who shared his passion for food, farming & sustainable living. In this series he's ready to take on even bigger challenges. His aim is to expand the farm from a smallholding to a viable small farm, edging closer to self-sufficiency.
When the series begins Paul is about to experience his first summer season on the farm. But using his experience of growing up in a rural area of Australia he takes each day in his stride. During the Summer and Autumn months the farm evolves, the garden grows and the livestock expands.
