The Town That Caught Tourette's
The Town That Caught Tourette's
The Town That Caught Tourette's (2012) Channel 4 In October 2011 in the tiny town of Le Roy, New York, a handful of teenage girls from the same high school suddenly developed symptoms that looked like Tourette's syndrome; facial twitching, violent limb gestures and uncontrollable verbal outbursts. The epidemic strangely seemed to affect only teenage girls and resulted in panicked parents and theories coming in thick and fast. Some doctors who saw the girls believed they were victims of conversion disorder, where real physical symptoms - in this case tics - are triggered not by a physical cause, but by psychological trauma. However this solution didn't convince all the families, who claimed their perfect girls, from cheerleaders to high-achievers, were from stable backgrounds and couldn't possibly be suffering from anything 'in the mind'.

She engages us with the beauty and brilliance in the designs, revelling in what is now often viewed as unfashionably pretty or ostentatious. In traditional martial arts, mastery of the art is not acquired through technical skill alone. In following ‘The Way’ one must look beyond technique. In Japanese archery or Kyudo, hitting the target is not enough. In order to shoot correctly we are told to “Shoot from the Heart”. As Takeuchi sensei says “As a national team member I had to hit the target no matter what. Eventually all that technique became obsolete in exchange to express myself through the bow”. This is One Shot. One Life. Zen of Japanese Archery.

Churchill's First World War
Churchill's First World War
Drama-documentary about Winston Churchill's extraordinary experiences during the Great War, with intimate letters to his wife Clementine allowing the story to be told largely in his own words. Just 39 and at the peak of his powers running the Royal Navy, Churchill in 1914 dreamt of Napoleonic glory, but suffered a catastrophic fall into disgrace and humiliation over the Dardanelles disaster. The film follows his road to redemption, beginning in the trenches of Flanders in 1916, revealing how he became the 'godfather' of the tank and his forgotten contribution to final victory in 1918 as Minister of Munitions. Dark political intrigue, a passionate love story and remarkable military adventures on land, sea and air combine to show how the Churchill of 1940 was shaped and forged by his experience of the First World War.

Hijos de la Tierra
“Children of the Earth” is the testimony of people linked to nature who open their hearts to transmit to humanity the wisdom that Mother Earth treasures. People who have inherited their knowledge from their ancestors and whose practice shows that we have a living pharmacy within our reach, as long as we take care of nature. They are medicine men and women who propose “an initiatory journey”, a plea in favor of natural medicine. They also emphasize that the materialism and stress to which current society subjects us prevent us from searching for consciousness, leading us to distance ourselves from nature. In this way, the documentary leads the viewer to reflect on the current health system. But it also tries to make people see that the great challenge is to once again be able to think about the common good, the Earth, our greatest provider of life.
