Good , But It Is Overrated By Some
Best movie ever!
Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
Wonderful movie. Usually I'm very critic and don't find most comedies amusing. I loved this movie. I'm also very fond of Maiara Walsh specially in this movie. It helps ... .
More effort was put into this movie than the movie that its parodying. True, the overall look of this movie is cheap and a lot of the humor is a bit crude, but it all works in the movie's favor. This masterpiece is a parody of the mess that is the Hunger Games and as a result there is a fantastic movie. I don't want to say a lot about this movie in the review. Its well worth just watching.
The only reason I watched this and I mean it, was that I was paid $20 to, by a truly cruel evil man that even the "prize" of $20 is not worth sitting through an hour and twelve minute film which this is, not counting horribly unfunny bloopers which take up ten more minutes of your life which would be better spent shooting up heroin and I mean that. Thankfully, this is the first Friedberg/Seltzer "film" to be released straight to video, it's about time. You know, people say there are worse directors but I don't see it, even Uwe Boll delivered a couple of decent films in Rampage and Assault on Wall Street. Even Michael Bay as much as I dislike him can create solid special effects. But this deadly duo who are guilty of making people dumber for having to sit through their films are the truly most criminal. On to the "film" itself, it obviously is a "satire" of The Hunger Games while also in typical fashion of this duo add random unfunny things to it, just to add it, for no apparent reason. I just watched the movie and I am started to forget most of it which is a blessing, every joke, and I mean every joke is a desperate pathetic attempt to make the viewer laugh, I can't comprehend the people who would find this funny. Obviously the people who like their awful excuses for movies, there has to be some people, if they keep making them. The only thing I give the movie props for is a quick moment where they show that The Hunger Games is essentially a rip off of The Running Man and Battle Royale, however, the way they did it, did not make me laugh. The acting is cringe worthy and I like Diedrich Bader but he has nothing to do here and is completely wasted in his role, he must have needed the paycheck. I can't even explain how bad the "jokes" are.Overall, it's just like their other flicks, painfully unfunny and will make you want to commit suicide faster than a death in your family. Not as bad as Disaster Movie as nothing ever will but still easily one of the worst comedies ever made. I don't believe in an afterlife but if there is a hell, it will no doubt be a never ending marathon of their works. Now excuse me while I go hang myself.
This is way better than many other "parodies" of recent years. It doesn't make it the best and it doesn't even come close to the classics, but you could do worse than watching this. The obvious story line is that of Hunger Games that gets spoofed here. But there are occasional other movies thrown in for good measure (like Harry Potter to name but one of them). Some things might not work in a couple of years because it is based on current events, that's one major difference to something like "Airplane!". It would be unfair to set the standards that high though. So if you liked the Scary Movies (even the latter ones that lost a bit of their appeal), you will like this too. You might also like this if you didn't like the Hunger Games (another thing it doesn't have in common with the classics, but rather with new parodies, is not respecting the "source" material)
