Just perfect...

This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.

I watched Avenged on a DVD with very low hopes considering the reviews on IMDb. I usually do not watch trailers or read long summaries of the plot to avoid spoilers as much as possible. I must say that my strategy paid off quite well because I was not expecting the movie to go where it went. Like any other average horror/thriller movie, you'll find many factual errors but that is acceptable in this genre. My biggest problem with this movie was acting. Sister of the main character was by far the worst actress even though she appeared for mere 2 minutes in the movie, followed by the absolutely useless and unmanly boyfriend. Admittedly, most of the blame for his bad role goes to the writing department because his character could not decide his personality but this doesn't mean that he could act. The lead in the movie was quite good. She does her role some justice.I recommend it on DVD if you don't have anything great to watch.

Hollywood used to make fun of blacks, Arabs, Asians, Indians, fat people, even women. They rarely touched white men or Jews. Now white men are fair game, and there is an overwhelming propaganda against them. All the other categories of people organized themselves and they often raise a big stink when media even alludes they might be less then perfect.So, yes, this is what annoys me most about the movie. The clumsy propaganda. It goes along the lines: white men have mercilessly murdered everyone, mistreated (by mistreated I mean brutally beaten and raped) their women and they deserve to be hunted down and killed like beasts. Worse even, the only black dude in the movie is a whining lover of that poor mistreated white woman, whose purpose in the movie is to give this message: "see, white animals, your women can't stand anymore your pasty evil ways and will find better and more sensitive lovers in black men who really know what a woman needs." Other than that, the characters are paper thin, there isn't much characterization, and they are unrealistic. The hillbillies speak a too perfect English, the black dude is a woman's wet dream, and the only woman in the movie is resurrected as an amazon -- another piece of feminist propaganda. The problem with the character is that it's so hard to care for them. A good horror spends more time with the characterization, and less with the blood and guts. And it pays off, because you watch differently the disembowelment of someone you come to like or hate than that of someone you don't even know how it appeared in that scene.Still, I liked a lot the fantasy atmosphere towards the end of the movie, which is why I give the movie its stars.

Such a hidden gem! It is hard to believe that good horror movies like this pass by not being noticed by the majority of the genre fans. Great actors and really well done make-up effects. Despite the main plot not being so original (it could easily be named "I Spit on Your Grave 4: Indian Vengeance" LOL - which I do not intend to mean something bad, as I LOVE the "Spit on your Grave" films), there is a supernatural element added to this one and it only makes the story stronger and more interesting. The only thing that could be considered a "flaw" are some of the special effects, but the movie altogether is so amazing that even the little poor effects cannot take away any of the greatness that "Savaged" has to offer in its 95 minutes.

This movie was awesome, great horror movie.If you like horror and action then this is the movie for you. I suggest getting some popcorn and enjoy and nice movie with your date because you will not fall asleep on this one. The quality of the movie was awesome and in HD plus great audio. I will definitely watch this movie again to ensure I didn't miss anything. Furthermore, the Zoe is a good actor, I can see her acting in multiple horror films in the future. He boyfriend is also a good actor and should be nominated as a Oscar for his performance at the end. This is a movie that I will recommend to all of my family and friends and their friends.
