Shen Zheng Yi, a girl who loved ice-skating, has found her goal after participating and advancing in a winter sports competition. Behind her mother's back, she decide to try entering the Zhu Feng Sports Club in order to become a professional short track speed skater. From not having experienced profession training, she undergoes tough challenges both physically and mentally; and finally succeeded in entering the club. An old incident involving Zheng Yi and her mother, as well as her coach Zhuang Yue was also unveiled in the process. With the encouragement of her close friend Shao Beisheng from the figure skating team, she overcomes these obstacles and won the trust of her team mates, becoming the black horse of the competition season. She also reaches mutual understanding with Zhuang Yue, and formed a close teacher-student bond with him. Two generations of short track speed skaters continuously fight for their dreams without giving up, giving their all in the competition.

Shao Bei Sheng runs into Shen Zheng Yi and a misunderstanding happens between them. In order to make up for it, he advises Shen Zheng Yi to ask Ms. Zhuang directly to join Zhufeng. Later, he saves her from drowning while trying to save a kid.
Shao Bei Sheng begs Shen Zheng Yi to pretend to be his girlfriend so that Liu Fei will leave him alone. After a conversation with Mr. Xiao, Ms. Zhuang agrees to let Shen Zheng Yi join the team on a condition. Shen Zheng Yi finally joins Zhufeng and her first challenge on the team is to pass the internal selection match.
Shen Zheng Yi becomes the target of bullying after she stands up for a fellow newcomer in the short track team. She is punished and banned from training on the ice rink. When Shao Bei Sheng finds out, he sees it as an opportunity to force her to sign a contract with him.
Due to Shen Zheng Yi not being allowed to practice on the ice rink, Shao Bei Sheng attempts to steal the key to the ice rink so that she can practice, but all of them end up being punished. Ms. Zhuang sends Shen Zheng Yi to the youth class and she finally realizes her problems.
Shen Zheng Yi finds out that her true savior is Shao Bei Sheng. In order to thank him, she tries to help him get a ticket to a musical, not knowing that it is for Qu Zhi. Meanwhile, Zhu Le Le joins the drama club as the only female lead.
Unsatisfied with Ms. Zhuang's teaching method, Luo Xiao Yi eggs the whole team to go on strike. The old members force the new members to quit training. Shen Zheng Yi disregards them and attends training alone.
Ms. Zhuang persuades the team members to return to Zhufeng. Shao Bei Sheng and Shen Zheng Yi wish for her success at the tryout at the wishing fountain. An accident happens when Xiao Qing gets distracted during her practice with Shao Bei Sheng.
As Shao Bei Sheng is injured, both Xiao Han and Mr. Ma are persuaded to let go of him. However, neither of them is ready to give up on him. Shen Zheng Yi tries to motivate Shao Bei Sheng by bringing him motivation books and taking him on a run.
After careful thought, Shao Bei Sheng decides to do single skating. Upon learning his decision, Xiao Qing gives up on the opportunity to join Ms. Jiang's team and decides to go solo to keep him company. On the other hand, Shao Bei Sheng slowly realizes he has feelings for Shen Zheng Yi but refuses to admit it.
Knowing that Shen Zheng Yi trains with her faulty ice skates, Shao Bei Sheng sneakily sells a pair of new skates to her for cheap. Coincidentally, Mr. Xiao gifts another pair of skates to Shen Zheng Yi. Meanwhile, Zhu Le Le and Qu Zhi's play seems to be going well, but some people are not satisfied with it.
Shen Zheng Yi must train with her team for the upcoming intercollegiate competition. She has to hide it from her mom, but her parents mistake her odd behavior as a sign that she is dating. Le Le warns Xiao Qing not to get in between Zheng Yi and Bei Sheng, only to find out that the two are actually in a contractual relationship.
Shen Zheng Yi loses her sketchbook containing her comics of Mr. Xiao. Not knowing about the contents, Shao Bei Sheng goes all out to help her find it. Xiao Qing rips off the search posters Shao Bei Sheng put up and gets caught red-handed.
Shen Zheng Yi competes against the ace speed skater, Yu Bing Ling in the preliminaries. But a controversial verdict from the referees puts Zheng Yi at a great disadvantage. Zhuang Yue hesitates to speak up for Zheng Yi and an unlikely witness steps forward.
Shao Bei Sheng insists on taking part in the competition on behalf of Yi Hang who injured himself. He makes a mistake at the beginning of the competition but he doesn't give up and executes a triple Axel flawlessly. Everyone proposes a toast to him during the team dinner and he ends up getting drunk.
Despite losing to Yu Bing Ling by a fraction, Ms. Zhuang is very pleased about Zheng Yi's first race. Zhufeng becomes more united as a team. Meanwhile, Zheng Yi is feeling uneasy about her contract romance with Shao Bei Sheng.
Shen Zheng Yi wants to terminate her contract with Shao Bei Sheng as she doesn't want to hold back Xiao Qing from pursuing him. Shao Bei Sheng avoids Shen Zheng Yi to stop her from doing so. On the other hand, members of Zhufeng demand Luo Xiao Yi to apologize to Ms. Zhuang if she wants to rejoin the team.
Shao Bei Sheng is at risk of being banned from competing after he hits a member of Feixiang. He is reluctant to expose the reasoning behind his actions, so Shen Zheng Yi thinks of a way to help him. Bei Sheng finally terminates his contract with Shen Zheng Yi after his friends urge him to confess his feelings to her, but his plan is a bit different than expected.
Shao Bei Sheng lets out all his past grievances to Zhuang Yue to which she can only apologize for. Qu Zhi and Le Le go on a first date as a couple. While Shen Zheng Yi is vexed over her true feelings for Shao Bei Sheng, he is already planning to profess his love for her.
Shao Bei Sheng plans a huge surprise to confess his love to Shen Zheng Yi, but Xiao Qing shows up at the rink instead. Shao Bei Sheng tries to explain the situation to Shen Zheng Yi, but she refuses to listen. Mr. Xiao tries to intervene by telling his sister that Shao Bei Sheng is not even mildly interested in her, but a lovestruck Xiao Qing is too headstrong to back down.
While Shao Bei Sheng desperately tries to explain to Shen Zheng Yi, Xiao Qing confesses that she has feelings for him. As the trio clears up the misunderstanding, Xiao Qing chooses to leave Zhufeng. With no more obstacles between them, Shao Bei Sheng and Shen Zheng Yi explore their newly found love.
Shen Zheng Yi’s mom visits the school to force Zheng Yi to quit the short track team. Luo Xiao Yi surprisingly speaks up for her, making Zheng Yi see her in a different light. Zhufeng starts training for the Lingyun Cup’s 1,500m race. Le Le gets upset when she realizes her ability is not up to par with her teammates.
Shen Zheng Yi and Liu Si Si won't give in to becoming the assists in the Lingyun Cup. Luo Xiao Yi doesn't make the finals and blames it on Zhu Le Le. As the competition nears, Sheng Zheng Yi and Liu Si Si have to decide who makes the final sprint.
Shao Bei Sheng trains vigorously as Kulik’s talent selection nears. It only suddenly hits Shen Zheng Yi that the two may have to be separated for a year soon if Kulik selects Bei Sheng. Meanwhile, Le Le wants to patch things up with Qu Zhi, but she gets jealous when he decides to recruit a pretty girl into the drama club.
Shen Zheng Yi volunteers to compete with Choi Eun-jeong and realizes that she is no match for Choi Eun-jeong at all. On the other hand, Shao Bei Sheng is not chosen by Kulik. Shao Bei Sheng doubts his competency, but eventually, he cheers up after listening to Mr. Ma.
Shen Zheng Yi and Shao Bei Sheng both suffer setbacks, but instead of being dispirited, they are motivated to do better. Xiao Han and Zhuang Yue have different ideas regarding who has a better chance at winning the Asian Cup's 1,500m race. Xiao Han believes in Zheng Yi’s potential, but he also cannot forget the promise he made to Luo Xiao Yi’s brother.
After knowing Mr. Xiao's real intention of training Shen Zheng Yi is to be Luo Xiao Yi's backup, Ms. Zhuang stops him from giving Shen Zheng Yi extra training. Because of that, Shen Zheng Yi finally has time to go on a date with Shao Bei Sheng. Shen Zheng Yi's parents find out about the relationship between Shao Bei Sheng and Shen Zheng Yi, and they have different views.
Wang Li Min finds out that Zhuang Yue is her daughter's coach and confronts her. She stops Zheng Yi from training with Zhuang Yue. The Asian Cup nears, but Zheng Yi is stuck in the middle of her mom and her coach.
Shen Zheng Yi gets into a fight with her mom when she stands up for Zhuang Yue. Zheng Yi gets distracted thinking about her mom while she is skating and suffers a minor injury. However, the wrong person ends up being blamed for the incident.
With Luo Xiao Yi and Xiao Han gone, Zhufeng Short Track Speed Skating Team is at risk of being disbanded. Shen Zheng Yi is pressured to do well at the Asian Cup in order to save her team. Luo Xiao Yi considers an offer to join Feixiang. However, Zheng Yi is reluctant to let her leave.
Xiao Han comes back to Zhufeng. Li Mi gives Shao Bei Sheng a cold shoulder before the final. During the warm-up of the final match, Shao Bei Sheng runs into another contestant and injures himself right before the competition. However, he insists on taking part in the match.
Luo Xiao Yi returns to Zhufeng and joins the competition with Shen Zheng Yi. The duo wins the semifinals and goes up against Choi Eun-jeong and Yu Bing Ling. However, with Luo Xiao Yi’s injury, would they be able to win the gold medal for team Zhufeng?
