Synopsis
It’s the start of spring at the SSPCA Wildlife Rescue Centre – the place where orphaned and injured wild animals from all over Scotland find help from a dedicated team of vets and carers.

April and co spend over a year hand-rearing orphaned otter cubs Chubb, Pike and Tiddler. Meanwhile, Theresa releases a hedgehog and her newborn hoglets into the wild.

April finds herself in charge of a beaver, one of her favourite animals. Meanwhile, Romain saves the life of a sparrowhawk using an intricate operation.

April and Juanita hand-rear a beautiful injured and orphaned fallow deer which they name Snow Drop. Meanwhile, specialist vet Romain and his family are getting busy with buzzards.

Wildlife assistant Rebecca is busy with orphaned partridges which she names after types of cheese! Meanwhile, Chloe hand-rears a gang of pine martens and returns them to the wild.

Kaniz struggles with the intake of rescued harbour seals which need to be returned to the wild. Meanwhile, April and Juanita see red squirrel Kite back to a home in the forest.

April rears a tiny orphaned badger cub, which she names Miss Honey. Meanwhile, centre vet Liam saves the life of a tiny common sandpiper that has been attacked by a domestic cat.

Lorraine, the head of birds at the wildlife rescue centre, is forced to ‘take her work home’ during the coronavirus pandemic. This means a houseful of goldfinches and collared doves.

Wildlife rescue officer Bob has interesting cases to deal with on his round including a bat caught in a light fitting, a stranded collared dove chick and a lost racing pigeon.

Wildlife assistant Juanita attempts to hand-rear the tiniest litter of red squirrels ever admitted to the centre. Meanwhile, Kaniz and Gaby struggle with a pair of feisty gannets.
