Synopsis
Once a student at the Academy of Fine Arts, young artist Shen Yi had all of the skills required to become a great painter. But when an impromptu commission lands Shen Yi in the middle of a police case gone wrong, his entire life gets flipped upside down. Seven years later, Shen Yi hopes he can find a way to make amends by taking a job as the Criminal Investigation Unit’s new portraitist. As the long-time friend of the officer killed in the incident involving Shen Yi, Captain Du Cheng is anything but welcoming when Shen Yi joins the team. Laying heavy blame on the artist for the death of his friend, Du Cheng refuses to accept Shen Yi and as such, does everything he can to make his life miserable. Working together to solve cases, Du Cheng and Shen Yi find themselves becoming a formidable force. But will the combined skill of this duo be enough to solve the mystery which still surrounds the death of Du Cheng’s oldest friend?

Shen Yichu joined the Criminal Investigation Detachment of Beijiang Branch as a mock portraitist, and was arranged by the leader to partner with the criminal police captain Du Cheng to handle the case. Du Cheng's initial provocations established the history of the relationship between the two. With the development of the subsequent plot, the close cooperation between the two pushed the confrontation between the characters to a climax. The compact plot, the flashing portraits, and the confusing clues of the case seem to tell the hidden truths and unknown stories one by one.

Wycliffe
Wycliffe is a British television series, based on W. J. Burley's novels about Detective Superintendent Charles Wycliffe. It was produced by HTV and broadcast on the ITV Network, following a pilot episode on 7 August 1993, between 24 July 1994 and 5 July 1998. The series was filmed in Cornwall, with a production office in Truro. Music for the series was composed by Nigel Hess and was awarded the Royal Television Society award for the best television theme. Wycliffe is played by Jack Shepherd, assisted by DI Doug Kersey and DI Lucy Lane.
Each episode deals with a murder investigation. In the early series, the stories are adapted from Burley's books and are in classic whodunit style, often with quirky characters and plot elements. In later seasons, the tone becomes more naturalistic and there is more emphasis on internal politics within the police.
