It devotes itself "to exploring the complexities of historical mysteries, searching out the facts, myths and conundrums that connect local folklore, family legends and interesting objects."

The 11th season of "History Detectives" premiered on July 1st, 2014. In past seasons, several mysteries were explored in each episode. This season however, "History Detectives" has been reformatted to focus on one iconic mystery per episode and the show is now called "History Detectives Special Investigations".
