Episode 26 : Surf, Sand and Sun

Children are encouraged to develop fine and gross motor skills by following The Wiggles fun movements in One Finger, One Thumb. This Old Man then helps children to learn numeracy skills, as a child is learning to count with vibrant colours and fun costumes. The Wiggles get the assistance of Wags the Dog and Henry the Octopus to help enlighten children on different animals and how they can have a different number of legs. They use various examples to demonstrate this to children. Sam gets the help of Captain Feathersword to help educate children about the skeletal system in Dry Bones. Wags and Dorothy play an energetic ball game which encourages children to work together and co-operate for the game to work.

Captain Antonio takes you across the seas to Jamaica to watch The Wiggles and the Wiggly Dancers sing and dance along to The Banana Boat Song! Anthony, Murray, Captain Feathersword and Wags the Dog help to educate children on different types of healthy vegetables in a fun and entertaining way which draws in the children's attention. Leo Sayer teams up with The Wiggles to sing this smash hit as they introduce children to modern language and sing the last chorus in Greek. The Wiggles assist children with literacy skills by using letters to spell out their names. They then get the help of Henry and Captain Feathersword in a game of musical statues. This game assists children with learning the physical movement of their bodies by using different levels. Come to London to visit the queen as The Wiggles and their friends dance and sing to London Bridge.

Mary's little lamb follows her everywhere, it even follows her to school. Watch as The Wiggles sing and their friends dance along to Mary Had A Little Lamb. Henry, Dorothy and Wags help children understand the importance of learning to swim and talk about the different strokes you can use in a fun and exciting way with demonstrations as a visual aid. Watch The Wiggles dress up and help children learn to count in a fun rhyming way as they sing This Old Man. Children are exposed to different languages throughout Wiggles songs, one such song in this episode is Frere Jacques. Dorothy the Dinosaur sings the lyrics in French then Sam sings them in English. Children are encouraged to join in when Captain Feathersword asks for their help in trying to work out what Anthony is dressed up as today by identifying different clothing items one at a time. Captain Feathersword and Anthony teach children about echoing by Anthony copying what Captain Feathersword had said. They then mirror each other to demonstrate how you can copy someone's movements. The Captain and a Wiggly Dancer help to act out one of the classic nursery rhymes Little Miss Muffet as Sam Wiggle narrates the story.

Venture outside to the garden as Dorothy shows you some beautiful flowers and Captain Feathersword shows some interesting insects as they sing English Country Garden. Buckle up and come for a drive in the Big Red Car as The Wiggles show you what they love doing and what all the Wiggly characters love doing. Children are encouraged to observe general life skills as Dorothy helps Wags to open his can of doggy treats. Sam then sings a song The Five Senses which helps children to understand about the five senses. It takes children through the five steps and explains the features used to smell, see, feel, listen and taste. Children are assisted with their numeracy skills in The Fairy Dance, as one by one fairies appear encouraging children to use addition to work out how many fairies are dancing.

Sam and Captain Feathersword tell a classic nursery rhythm, while Murray skillfully plays his mandolin and the Wiggly Dancers perform the tale to help children gain a visual aid. Dorothy the Dinosaur introduces opposites to children and she is then joined by The Wiggles who look at different opposites and demonstrate them to children. A beautiful ballerina dances with a teddy bear in Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, Turn Around. Murray involves the audience by asking them to assist him in finding out what Anthony is dressed up as. This encourages children to observe and use the power of deduction to identify what items of clothing Anthony has on and what outfit these items make up. Anthony is joined by some friendly farmyard animals, and educates the audience about some interesting facts about cows. Captain Feathersword plays a game with Anthony and dresses up as a cow. Thankfully the audience help Anthony discover that Captain Feathersword isn't a farm animal. The Wiggly Dancers help The Wiggles sing and dance to A Sailor Went To See. Watch as they dress up as sailors and dance to a Hornpipe. It's time to sing and spell with The Wiggles as they teach children how various words are spelt and what they stand for.

The Wiggles teach children about colours and the importance of communication and being friendly, through such means as introducing themselves and saying hello. They also develop children's numeracy skills through the classic nursery rhyme This Old Man. Anthony is joined by some Wiggly Dancers dressed up as cowboys, however one of the cowboys looks a lot like the friendly pirate, Captain Feathersword. The Wiggles put on their best suits and dance and play a Swedish Rhapsody at Achillia the Mouse's ball. They are then joined by a ballet dancing mouse and some special ballroom dancing friends. Sam sings a special version of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, accompanied by some beautiful ballerinas. Dorothy the Dinosaur teaches Wags the Dog all about homophones, where words that are pronounced the same have different meanings. Murray with his special guitars and Jeff with his keyboard ask for the audience to help them paint a picture of the meadow.

Promoting a healthy lifestyle by encouraging children to get outdoors and go for a walk, Sam Wiggle sings A Frog Went A Walking. The Wiggles go for a drive in the Big Red Car, while the wiggly friends do some of their favourite things like cook and dance. Children are encouraged to observe and use their mind in a fun way to help Sam Wiggle identify what Anthony has dressed up as today. Over In The Meadow some friendly animals join Sam in helping kids with counting. Henry the Octupus informs Anthony about the Gawa people and their culture. Henry produces a map and shows the audience where the Gawa people reside. Henry then takes us all on a trip to visit the Gawa people and have a visual experience of their culture. Promoting healthy lifestyle choices by wearing a hat and applying sunscreen Sam has so much fun down at the beach with Dorothy, Wags, Henry and Captain Feathersword.

Some beautiful dancers dance the ballet with Dorothy in colourful tutus in The Fairy Dance, while The Wiggles sing a counting song. In La Bamba the audience is exposed to Mexican culture as they wear Mariachi suits and do traditional salsa dancing. Anthony is joined by some talented ballet dancers, teaching kids some special ballet moves and Captain decides to play a little joke. Little Miss Muffet, the classic nursery rhyme is played out by a wiggly dance. It also has a very familiar pirate playing the spider that scares little Miss Muffet off her tuffet. Painting a picture with music, Murray and Jeff use the audience's help to make a beautiful beach painting. This segment engages the audience to use their imagination to paint a beautiful picture.

The Banana Boat Song promotes healthy eating with a groovy reggae beat and some hip sailor dancers. The soldiers are marching up the hill and then they are marching back down and stopping in the middle where they are neither up nor down in A Grand Old Duke Of York. A beautiful ballerina dances with a big fluffy teddy bear getting ready to go to bed in Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear. Here we go Round the Mulberry Bush teaches children about good hygiene such as washing their hands, washing clothes, sweeping the floor, and brushing one's hair. The Captain plays a fun game using poetry then plays a rhyming game with Sam and Jeff.

London Bridge is falling down, come to London and find out how The Wiggles try to fix it. Anthony, Sam, Captain Feathersword and their Wiggly friends demonstrate to children different instruments and the sounds that they make and then the Captain decides to play another fun game. Sam narrates a story about a princess and he is helped out by the Wiggly dancers as they perform the story. The Wiggles play a game with rhyming words and numbers to help children with letter sounds and counting. The fab four of fun, The Wiggles accompanied by some groovy dancers dressed in vibrant colours and dancing to a very catchy tune do 'The Shimmie Shake!' Continuing with their groovy theme The Wiggles are joined by world famous singer Leo Sayer as they dance the night away. Throughout the song a variety of costumes are worn from the sixties to traditional Greek outfits. In 'You Make me Feel like Dancing', once again The Wiggles allow for the audience to gather an understanding for another culture as they sing a portion of the song in Greek whilst doing some great dancing. Dorothy teaches everyone 'The Bus Stop'. The catchy tunes and funky dance moves will have both children and parents doing 'The Bus Stop' in lounge rooms around the world.

Pop singing legend Leo Sayer has re-recorded with The Wiggles his smash hit 'You Make Me Feel Like Dancing' which opens this episode. In this song The Wiggles dress in costumes inspired by the 1960s and 70s and their dances match their costumes! Of course there is lots more music - we do the hornpipe in 'A Sailor Went To Sea', we march up and down with the 'Grand Old Duke Of York' and meet some ducks, chickens and birds in 'Over In The Meadow'. The Wiggles meet their friends Captain Feathersword and Wags the Dog who re-enact an exciting fire fighting adventure. Murray and Jeff create a seaside musical landscape using a guitar, piano and animated images. Finally, Captain Feathersword plays a trick on Anthony and pretends to be a Mariachi singer!
