Sitcom following a successful African-American couple, George and Louise “Weezyö Jefferson as they “move on up” from working-class Queens to a ritzy Manhattan apartment. A spin-off of All in the Family.

Episode 20 : Florence's New Job: Part Two

As the new executive housekeeper, Florence must do two things that she doesn't want to do, fire a maid who happens to be her friend and tell George he didn't get the cleaning contract. These deeds prompt Florence to have second thoughts about being executive housekeeper.

George is trying to win a cleaning contract at a hotel and invites Mr. Claymore, the owner over to try to get it, however, Claymore takes more of an interest in Florence and offers her a job as executive housekeeper.

George has had it with his obnoxious manager who's in charge of the store in the building and decides to fire him. However, in the middle of his termination, the man drops dead. Later, George must give the eulogy at his funeral but George has a hard time coming up with nice words to say.

To get into an exclusive club, George exaggerates how many stores he owns. However, once a member of the club, George finds himself in over his head, by pledging $100 for a fountain unknown to him $100 is really $100,000.

George is hailed a hero after saving a woman from a mugging. However, later, George is intimidated by the mugger who threatens him which leads George to hire a personal bodyguard.

Louise and Florence run into members of the Ku Klux Klan at the CPR class held for the tenants in the building. Meanwhile, a rash of robberies in the building prompts Tom to start a meeting with the tenants. He later gets invited to one already scheduled unknown to him it's a Ku Klux Klan meeting and he invites George to come along with him.

Louise is heartbroken when she discovers that the city is planning to tear down the building she grew up in. This leads her to make one last visit to her childhood home where she quickly remembers special memories of her mother and of her wedding day.

However, one afternoon when Lionel and Jenny leave Jessica in George and Louise's care, they secretly sneak off to enter Jessica in the contest but in the process misplace her instead.

Florence's cousin, Ernie, comes to town and pays Florence a visit. He quickly asks her for $1000 and Florence doesn't hesitate to ask George. However, George is convinced, Ernie's a crook and Florence will do anything to prove him wrong.

Helen and Jenny talk a hesitant Louise into going to a male strip club but when George forbids her to go she's all for it. Unknown the Louise, Helen and Jenny, George and Tom follow the girls to the club where George concocts a plan that involves themselves showing some skin.

After their boat tips over, George and Tom wash ashore on another part of the island. George and Tom are aided by some friendly islanders who will have to leave their home due to a development project, which happens to be the project which George is considering to invest in, which would keep him in Hawaii.

George begins to get involved in the investment plan that would allow him and Louise to live in Hawaii and begins hinting to her that that's what he wants to do. Meanwhile, a sailing trip goes awry when Tom and George get lost.

George, Louise and Florence arrive in Hawaii and discover that Tom and Helen have decided to stay a few more days. Meanwhile, George begins to work on lowering his blood pressure which leads him to decide that he wants to sell his business and move to Hawaii.

Nick (19) is on his gap year, but doesn't get much further than the sofa or job centre, Janey is as sharp as a tack and 16 going on 25, while Michael is a very bright, computer-nerdish 12 year old who is just discovering girls.

Disillusioned after a long career at Sunshine Desserts, Perrin goes through a mid-life crisis and fakes his own death. Returning in disguise after various attempts at finding a 'new life', he gets his old job back and finds nothing has changed. He is eventually found out, and in the second series has success with a chain of shops selling useless junk. That becomes so successful that he feels he has created a monster and decides to destroy it. In the third and final series he has a dream of forming a commune which his long suffering colleagues help bring to reality. Unfortunately that also fails and he finds himself back in a job not unlike the one he originally had at Sunshine Desserts.

Dolly and Jean are the bickering menopausal older women, always at odds but best friends beneath it all. Then there's thick-as-two-short-planks Anita, and the terminally uninterested Twinkle, more concerned with having a good time than anything else. Making up the motley crew are military man handyman Stan, all rules and regulations, and ditzy Philippa, who never seems to get anything right.

The show premiered as a mid-season replacement, as well as airing on CH in Canada, TV3 in Ireland, ITV3 in the UK, and on Network Ten in Australia. The series focused on Michael Raines, a 'mentally haunted' LAPD detective, who interacts with imaginary manifestations of dead crime victims in order to solve criminal cases. Raines must deal with his unique, unintentional method, as it causes problems with his co-workers and in his personal life.
