Six aspiring music journalists were given the summer internships in hopes of getting a contributing editor position at Rolling Stone magazine. The contestants included six twenty-somethings that applied through a write-in contest: Krishtine de Leon is a local hip-hop magazine editor from San Francisco, CA; Peter Maiden, an Australian college student at UC Berkeley; Tika Milan, a lesbian poet and freelance journalist from Brooklyn; Russell Morse, a former juvenile delinquent turned reporter for a local San Francisco newspaper; Krystal Ann Simpson from Salinas with a love for classic rock; and Colin Stutz, a 20 year old University of Southern California student from Oregon.

Top Chef Canada is a reality competition show. The first season premiered on April 11, 2011 on Food Network Canada. The first season consisted of 13 episodes, with 16 contestants vying for a grand prize of $100,000 and a GE Monogram kitchen valued at $30,000. Contestants shopped at Loblaws in season one and McEwan in season two. Like the original American series, each week the chef contestants compete against each other in culinary challenges. Contestants are judged by a panel of professional chefs and other notables from the food and wine industry, with one or more contestants being eliminated each week. The Canadian edition uses the same graphics and music as the American version of the program. Season one of Top Chef Canada was one of Food Network Canada's most highly-rated programs. The network renewed the program for a second season, which began to air on March 12, 2012.

Javier takes Delia, his pregnant wife, to his ranch in a remote village. Although she's surrounded with love and comfort, Delia has an uneasy feeling. One day, Javier goes out hunting and kills a deer, which to his horror turns out to be a man. Javier's servants toss the corpse over a canyon and tell him to forget the incident, but the dead man's ghost seeks out his mother, the local witch, and begs her to avenge his murder. The witch turns up at Javier´s ranch, and under a mysterious and unexpected shower of thunder and lightning, curses the family. Javier's wife shall bear twin daughters, one of which shall be a fearsome demoness. A day later, Delia goes into labor and gives birth to a healthy baby girl. Everybody feels calmer after the birth, yet a couple of hours later, Delia gets labor pains again. This time she's ripped apart by another baby girl. Delia bleeds to death, yet because the two girls look identical, both healthy and beautiful, it´s hard to know which one killed her mother. Several years later, the identical twins have very different personalities. Gilda is an independent doctor and a city dweller. Her twin Liliana is a frail invalid who resides in the ranch. However, one of them harbors inside the dreadful Chacala, which will soon materialize to wreak havoc among those around her.
