Fossil Falls
Through the alchemical materialization of hand-processed 16mm film, ’Fossil Falls’ uncovers a charge and vibration in the natural world. The camera traverses the desert in an embodied relationship with non-human life forms, exposing a sense of desire, narrative, and point of view in the non-human. Thus, there is a kind of crisis in trying to hold onto, know, or truly become that which is unknown, or outside of the human.
Where It Begins
The 90s, a small town high school somewhere in China. An athletics competition and a lost Walkman set in motion a chain of events that will mark the lives of a group of friends, rivals and enemies forever. Shy, wealthy Qian, extrovert Cheng, troubled Su, academically gifted Wang, charismatic athlete Teng Xiao and student president Yang are all linked in a web of friendships and hatreds, secrets, violent conflicts and passionate attachments. None emerges unscarred, and some of the wounds run deep. Years later, a series of encounters draw them back together, but the shadow of the past hangs heavy. Can they redeem themselves – and exorcise the ghosts of their youth – or is tragedy inevitable?
Kes Reimagined
The Barry Hines Novel ‘A Kestrel for a Knave’ and Ken Loach’s famous film adaptation are both modern classics. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Kes, Barnsley born choreographer Jonathan Watkins reimagines the work weaving dance, projections, puppetry and music to create a family friendly Kes to rival War Horse, the Guardian called it ‘genuinely too powerful for words’.
A Little Testament
A free-flowing, poetic short film filled with expressionist imagery, old photos and abstract moments, led by a voice-over in which the director tells us personal memories of his youth and his recent life in the hopes of sketching a clear image of the complex struggle of growing from an innocent child to a weary adult.

Oats and Barley follows a nervous, impressionable young boy called Jamie as he attends his first funeral. Although this isn't your average first funeral. As Jamie nervously arrives at the ceremony, it becomes clear that he is being coerced into a sinister family business.

A small Midwestern town is turned upside down as its local sheriff finds himself hunting for a missing young man. The young mans wife is at the mercy of her community and its law enforcement to help her find him and in the process it seems the body count is rising throughout the hunt. The young man finds himself in a state of amnesia and can't recall who he is and how he got where he is. As he tries to discover his own identity he discovers strange things are happening to him and he can not control an evil that seems to be growing ever so rapidly inside him. As the horror that has hit this quiet little community has grown into something that even the sheriff and his people can't seem to stop - the terror seems to be leaving nothing but death in its wake.

In 2016, popular techno-producer and DJ Philipp Gorbachev had been trained by a bell-ringing master and later became the bell ringer at the St. Nicholas Church in Aksinino. Being influenced by Peter Mamonov, Moscow-based electronic musician believes in the spirituality of the Russian dance floor. This film is an attempt to reflect it through the prayerful experience of the modern bell-ringer, who hides the red mechanic jumpsuit, Gorbachev’s usual clothes for sets, under the monastic robe. Following Philip, the camera tries to find and capture in detail the fragile atmosphere in which the sound of bells becomes a source of divine revelation and turns people into brothers and sisters.
