Kim Dae Jung Must Not Die
Kim Dae Jung, who stands next to people in the middle of caotic history! A young businessman Kim Dae Jung recognized the victims of ideology. He decided to be a politician to make his country where people's politic and democracy are rooted. The price of being leave from a guaranteed future and take the first step on a bumby road was kidnapping, death threats, imprisonment, and a death sentence that shook him to the core, but even in his final moments, when he was sentenced to death, Kim never wavered. "Democracy will be recovered. I believe in it." The life of President Kim Dae-jung, a death row inmate who survived from the throes of death, four parliamentary elections, and three unsuccessful presidential campaigns, is etched into the modern history of South Korea.
Nazi Town, USA
In February 1939, more than 20,000 Americans filled Madison Square Garden for an event billed as a “Pro-American Rally.” Images of George Washington hung next to swastikas and speakers railed against the “Jewish controlled media” and called for a return to a racially “pure” America. The keynote speaker was Fritz Kuhn, head of the German American Bund. Nazi Town, USA tells the largely unknown story of the Bund, which had scores of chapters in suburbs and big cities across the country and represented what many believe was a real threat of fascist subversion in the United States. The Bund held joint rallies with the Ku Klux Klan and ran dozens of summer camps for children centered around Nazi ideology and imagery. Its melding of patriotic values with virulent anti-Semitism raised thorny issues that we continue to wrestle with today.

There, she is convinced that he is only sleeping in the cemetery and that he will come back from the dead to be with her. Adrift Potentials
This pseudo diary film is made of found materials from an unfinished 16mm film. Potenciais à Deriva is a film started by a Brazilian artist under a pseudonym while living in exile in Los Angeles, California. Isolated shots and previously assembled scenes reveal an intention to create a mysterious film comprised of disembodied interviews, empty rooms, radio recordings, soccer games, and sudden apparitions of the filmmaker that slowly ruminates on Brazil's colonial past, North American Imperialism and the military dictatorship of the time in a paranoid and anxious manner. Be aware that the film's final version never came to exist. This version presented is my mere attempt to produce a film with these otherwise lost images.

On April 30th, 2024, anti-war protesters occupied Hamilton Hall, an administrative building at New York City's Columbia University, and renamed it "Hind's Hall" in honor of Hind Rajab, a six-year-old Palestinian girl killed by the Israeli military, funded and enabled by the U.S. Government and corporations. That night, police stormed the campus, escalating protests in New York, across America, and the world. Meanwhile, the IDF invasion of Rafah unfolds. This film documents one week of this conflict.

With these, Kluge plays in the same essayistic fashion beloved from his television work – historical footage and a plenitude of texts, comics, charts and cabaret. In short: facts and fictions freely intermingle.

After 20 years, the director Eimantas Belickas together with the author of the script Ramune Rakauskaite chose the brightest, outstanding young people who already have something to say about their first steps upon reaching adulthood. This is a picture of the first EU generation in Lithuania.

Letícia discovers she is pregnant but does not know who the father of her child is. There are four possibilities. Despite being insecure and afraid, she gets in touch with the potential parents. Everyone claims that the child can’t be theirs because they didn’t come. She didn’t come either. The solitary pregnancy takes a turn. When the child is born, her restlessness takes shape: she goes on a quest to find out who her child’s father is. The pressure and overload on her reveal a cycle of violence. In an honest and direct way, the documentary is a trigger of unease, exposing the negligence of parental abandonment.

Kaniela: The Danny Kaleikini Story, is a biographical documentary based on the life of the man known as Hawaii’s Ambassador of Aloha, as told in his own words. Born into a large family with limited resources, Kaleikini learned the value of hard work by selling newspapers, shining shoes and singing on street corners at a young age to help support his family. He developed his singing and entertaining skills during his family’s weekend backyard parties. Kaleikini began working in Hawaii’s tourism industry in the 1950’s and after learning lessons from other local entertainers, blossomed into a beloved and globally known entertainer with over 30 years of performing in Hawaii, Las Vegas and Japan.
Kabul Beauty
Sofia and Nigina. They’re Afghans, beautiful, proud, best friends, despite themselves and without knowing it - icons of Kabul’s idle youth. Behind the curtains of their beauty salon, the exterior of which has been ransacked by the Taliban, they support a small team and a dream: to protect their last space of freedom. Their salon is situated in central Kabul. Around twenty employees work there, seven days a week. It’s a sanctuary for women: a place where men do not enter. We began filming the day after the Taliban came to power on August 15, 2021. For a year and a half, as the extremists impose new laws on Afghans, especially women, we follow the two friends in their beauty salon and across the Afghan capital: in a park where they are the only ones who still dare to show their faces; on the hilltops where they learn to drive in secret… And then, on the road to exile. The repression becomes too suffocating, too violent. The young women’s quest for lightness becomes a plan of escape…

The film intricately documents the creation of a portrait of the politician and benefactor Evangelos Averoff by the painter Yorgos Rorris. Rorris guides us through the meticulous process he is about to embark on. His working method is unique, as the subject of the portrait has passed away (Evangelos Averoff: 1910 – 1990). The studio, serving as the documentary's primary setting, is creatively enhanced with sounds, descriptions, memories, and images from the life and acquaintances of Evangelos Averoff.

Can our bodies and desires be put into words, and what might they be each time? For Sylvia, the biggest thing would be to manage to talk and have someone listen to her. The lights of a lonely show flicker and illuminate the darkness.

Sexual minorities were oppressed, imprisoned and murdered by the Nazis. Paragraph 175 criminalized homosexual men during the Nazi era - but the Nazis also discriminated against lesbians and trans people. They should be excluded from the national community. More than 50,000 queer people have been proven to have been persecuted. The documentary highlights three poignant fates in the context of Nazi terror: Elli Smula was persecuted as a lesbian, Liddy Bacroff was harassed by the authorities as a "transvestite" and Rudolf Brazda was imprisoned in the Buchenwald concentration camp because of his homosexuality. In order to tell their stories, the actor Jannik Schümann and the activists Julia Monro and Kerstin Thost go looking for clues in archives and talk to historians. You will learn how some people managed to live out their identity and assert themselves as queer people during the Nazi era despite the most adverse circumstances.
