ATUEL is the story of a community and its river; of a river and its community. Everyone in the province of Mendoza, Argentina, lives in one of three oases. The southern oasis, home to the cities of San Rafael and General Alvear, depends primarily on The Atuel River. Yet incredulously, the river remains under threat. People cannot care for what they don’t know and so we decided to ask the river what story it would like to tell about itself. To do so, we travelled its entire length from its source in the heart of The Andes to where it dries out prematurely in the sands of The Cuyo Desert. We’re told we are the first to do so since 1884 and the first ever to do so by boat. 43 days. 480 kilometres. 38 people interviewed about their relationship with the river.

In the Hearts of the Living
Exclusion is a long journey that continues into death. Over the seasons, volunteers organize the burial of people who have experienced living on the street, trying to bring together their families and loved ones so that they do not leave alone, in oblivion and indifference. Each year, about twenty ceremonies are held in the cemetery of Cornebarrieu on the outskirts of Toulouse. A presence, gestures, songs, and stories accompany these deceased. Through their presence, which might seem vain, at the funerals of strangers, these volunteers question the scope and meaning of such a commitment beyond religious beliefs. By offering a dignified ceremony to the most precarious, they contribute, in a spirit of brotherhood, to honoring their memory. For the true tomb of the dead is the heart of the living.

Using photographs and archival materials, HUNG explores the personal stories of three residents and how they reflect upon the upheavals between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.
Wild Prague
Amidst today’s urban jungle of concrete, glass and metal, it is easy to forget that we actually live in the territory formerly dominated by wildlife. Many of its members have been exterminated by humans, while others have fled the sprawling urbanization to the surrounding countryside. It is their survival strategies that get revealed in exciting detail in the documentary series, Planet Czechia. For two years, a team of camera operators headed by Jan Hošek were recording a life cycle of Prague’s wild animal world across all seasons of the year. The film, accompanied by the commentary read by the actor Jiří Macháček, registers everyday struggles of the fat dormouse, the mouflon, blackbirds or the water hen, teaching the viewers in a casual manner a higher degree of tolerance toward the city’s overlooked inhabitants.

Real street photography is gradually fading into oblivion in favor of modern trends, but at one time for Anya it became salvation from the alcohol pit and a new meaning in life. At the moment, she is one of the last who is still seriously involved in this art form. Her unique method consists of a long search for documentary photography on the streets of St. Petersburg. Anya meets the hero of one of her old photographs and invites him to try again to become a model for a new photo story. The characters get closer, and Anya creates new unique photographs, which the protagonist compares with the moment.
Bullying
The main "hero" of the documentary will be bullying, as a social phenomenon and a problem that ruins the lives of thousands of young Kazakhstanis. We want to draw the attention of children, parents, teachers, and legislators to the fact that inaction, ignoring, and tacit condoning bullying can lead to tragic consequences.
Ile: On the Verge
The Ili River is the main artery of Southeastern Kazakhstan. It flows into the Balkhash and delivers 80% of the incoming water. The banks and irrigation canals are drained, and the old aqueducts are destroyed. The river is getting smaller every year due to a decrease in water volume.
Jastar
The consciousness of young Kazakhstanis under the age of 30 differs from the older generation. The progressive stratum of youth makes a significant contribution to the development of their society and is distinguished by awareness, responsibility and initiative. The authors of the film showed representatives of different professions. They are all professionals and lead important social projects such as recycling garbage or rescuing stray animals. One of the goals of the film is to inspire young Kazakhstanis to do useful things, choose a profession out of love, joint responsibility and care for their country.

His nickname in music is sam1 (someone). He is looking for himself, despite the fact that he is 34 years old. Outwardly, she dresses like a teenager, and at times thinks the same way. He tries himself in rap, in acting, but the main occupation is Service repair of equipment. Samat cannot quit his permanent job, as there are circumstances such as his mother and brother, who is being treated in Russia. Their father abandoned them when they were children, so their mother raised them alone. He also reads prayers. Namaz and religion for him is a very important component, thanks to which Samat finds himself. But he is not trying to be famous here and now, and he understands that this takes time and work. After all, who knows, maybe his finest hour has not yet come.
