Synopsis
Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files is a paranormal investigation series produced by Base Productions that began airing July 15, 2010, on SyFy. The show follows a team of investigators, led by former FBI agent Ben Hansen, who review various photographs and viral videos of alleged paranormal activity. If a particular piece of evidence is deemed intriguing enough to warrant further investigation, they set out to recreate and explain the sighting. Beginning episode #207 in first-half of season two, the show began to feature a "You Decide" segment in the middle of the program where a video is shown of something strange and then asks the viewing audience if they think the footage is fact or faked. After a commercial break the truth behind the video is revealed.

The Fact or Faked crew have two out of this world assignments this week. One team attempts to determine from video evidence whether or not the Apollo moon landings were really a spectacular hoax, as some would say. The other team investigates an alleged UFO caught on camera in Gulf Breeze, Florida.

Ben, Chi-Lan and Austin travel to Alton, Illinois to investigate the McPike Mansion, a well known haunted house where some local ghost hunters caught what appears to be an apparition on their cameras. Meanwhile, Jael, Bill and Larry go to Fremont, California to attempt to debunk an alleged UFO.

The team splits up, with Ben, Jael and Austin investigating an alleged ghost of a Civil War deserter videoed in an Indiana cemetery, while Bill, Chi-Lan and Larry head to Colorado where livestock are being mutilated by an unknown predator, while strange lights appear in the night sky.

Bill, Austin and Jael travel to Michigan to look into the mysterious "Paulding Lights", while Ben, Larry and Chi-Lan head to San Antonio, Texas, where ghostly children are said to push cars over the railroad tracks where they themselves met their fatal end.

The program began as a special titled The UFO Report: Sightings on October 18, 1991. The original Concept Creator and Supervising Producer of that hour special produced by Paramount for Fox TV was Linda Moulton Howe, an Emmy Award-winning TV producer and documentary filmmaker of TV specials about science and the environment. In Search of... is a television series that was broadcast weekly from 1977 to 1982, devoted to mysterious phenomena. The series was created by David Hudgins and inspired by the book The Reincarnationist, a crime thriller by M. J. Rose, whose main character, Josh Ryder, solves a 21st-century crime with memories and clues from his past life in ancient Rome.
Although seven episodes were produced, the series was canceled after three episodes aired due to rapidly declining ratings. The network announced plans to air the remaining episodes on successive Friday nights from May 28 to June 4, 2010. On June 8, Fox announced that they would not air the final two episodes.

Ghost Hunters Academy is a paranormal reality television series that premiered on November 11, 2009, on the Syfy channel. The program is the third spin-off series based on Ghost Hunters. The show features TAPS members Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango as they lead a group of prospective investigators on various ghost hunting cases at locations that are allegedly haunted, and which had been previously investigated by TAPS.
