This season of My 600-lb Life tells powerful stories of morbidly obese individuals, many who are home bound, relying on care just to live day-to-day as they make the decision to undergo gastric bypass surgery.

Through their year-long journeys, they will need to lose thousands of pounds, collectively in order to survive and take control of their lives. High-risk surgery, addiction, fear, helplessness, victory - these stories are about much more than weight loss, they’re about heart.
