Synopsis
In the fifth and final season, Bay and Daphne return home after a transformative 10-month trip to China. Daphne tries to integrate herself back into campus life but finds that things have changed without her. Meanwhile, Bay experiences a setback in her career as a tattoo artist.

As she searches for memories, Kathryn discovers a long buried family secret – stretching all the way back to the switch – that changes everything. Daphne competes against Mingo for a six-week paid internship in sports medicine. Bay is celebrated for her tattoo work in a magazine spread, but her struggle to prove herself as an artist to John threatens to destroy their relationship. Toby meets Amelia, a young woman with Down Syndrome who changes his perception about his son’s future. Melody, Emmett and Travis make some major decisions about their lives, and Regina takes a chance on love.

Needing to pay their electric bill, Bay and Daphne throw a “lights on” party at their apartment above the Cracked Mug but things go awry when Toby overhears two students making disability jokes. Toby and Bay’s high school frenemy Simone turns up looking glamorous and successful. Meanwhile, as Daphne and Chris get to know each other better, she starts to suspect that he’s hiding a big secret. Kathryn and Regina do some old-school snooping on Luca after Regina sees a questionable text on his phone.

A mysterious young woman has Bay and Daphne flooded with memories of their deceased father Angelo, and they must decide if they should let her into their lives. Toby is caught between his mother’s wishes to baptize his son Carlton and his wife’s feelings about faith. Melody asks her sons to make amends so the family can be together for her birthday, but it might be too late.

Daphne takes a volunteer job at a clinic for extra credit and comes face-to-face with her old mentor, Dr. Jackson. While eager to mend fences with him, she grows alarmed when it becomes obvious he’s having trouble properly treating his patients. Mingo leads the annual “Kangaroo Krawl,” but Daphne sees his foolhardy behavior as a reaction to the regretful costume party incident. Bay finds Noelle is plagiarizing her work and uses the discovery to negotiate her own chair. John and Kathryn make an effort to rekindle their romance. Regina is put in a precarious situation when she decides to expand her business.
Episode 5 : Occupy Truth

With tensions running at an all-time high, the Black Student Union takes a stand against the university administration until their demands are heard. Told in three chapters from the varying perspectives of Sharee, Iris and Chris, the students deal with their frustrations in different ways. Iris pledges to continue her hunger strike until the students responsible for a racist display outside the Black Student Union are expelled, but her commitment has consequences on her health. Sharee faces the pain of her own past as she tries to gather signatures and rally more students to get involved. Chris is torn between wanting to dazzle several baseball scouts at an upcoming game and standing with his fellow students to show solidarity.
Episode 4 : Relation of Lines and Colors

Daphne and Sharee are horrified to stumble upon a racist display at the Black Student Union on campus. When the perpetrators are given minimal punishment, Iris starts a hunger strike in protest. Daphne receives an anonymous threat and Sharee grows frustrated with how the school is handling the situation. Emmett invites Bay to help him with an art project, causing friction with Travis who’s already upset that John seems ready to replace him on the baseball team.

Returning from London for a visit, Toby and Lily reveal their plans to get married in the Kennish backyard. But a fight before the wedding may tear them apart before they can say “I do.” Regina must decide whether to reveal her relationship with Luca to the family. The fourth season picks up right after graduation with the family and Emmett discovering Bay's impulsive decision - and no one is happy about it. Meanwhile, Daphne is determined to prove herself worthy of her switchster's sacrifice while also dealing with the challenges of a whole new world of college.
Season 3
Senior year means big changes for Bay and Daphne, as the Carlton School for the Deaf receives an influx of hearing students who are not happy to be there. Daphne begins working at a free clinic as part of her probation and Bay takes an art class at a local college.
Season 2
This season sees dramatic changes in the lives of the Kennish and Vasquez families as a result of the verdict in the baby switch trial. Bay enrols in an experimental program at Carlton for siblings of deaf students. Meanwhile, Daphne starts her own food truck business.
Season 1
In the first season, the lives of Bay Kennish, who grew up in a wealthy family with two parents and a brother, and Daphne Vasques, who grew up with a single mother in a poor neighborhood, are turned turned upside down when they discover they were accidentally switched as newborns in the hospital. When financial difficulties arise, the Vasques move into the Kennishes' guest house, giving everyone a chance to get to know each another.
