Samantha Crawford is living a storybook life: she’s happily married, she lives on a ranch where she keeps her beloved horse, and the stories she’s told and illustrated since childhood have become published books. When her husband Billy is killed in a senseless act of violence, Sam loses her faith and her will to live. But a death-defying encounter with two children leads to a reunion with Joe, her oldest friend. As Sam watches “Papa” Joe care for and love the kids in his under-resourced neighborhood, she begins to realize that no matter life’s circumstances, the love of God is always reaching out to us.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
The movie is about love and loss, but loving other people who come from different backgrounds from you. There is a murder mystery in the movie based on true events. I liked the emotional heartwarming events in the movie, the fact that is; based on a true story made it more compelling. The heart wrenching moments make it hard to watch sometimes, but in a good way. The fact that it actually happened to someone and put in a movie makes it sad to think of the events that happened; but also seeing the good things that happened in the movie made me want to share this with people; so they can learn what happened and share the story message of love. I have no negative things to say about the movie. I would rate it an 8 out of 10. I thought the actors portrayed their roles pretty well. The detective in the movie was unlikeable, but he played the role convincingly. The two main characters, Sam and Joe, did an excellent job in showing true moments of emotion. I thought the music in the movie went with specific moments in the movie and made you feel the emotion in them. Overall, I enjoyed the movie. It was not my favorite movie, and it reminded me somewhat of the movie, Blindside, as it was based on a true story also. Unconditional was unique in different ways.
This was an inspiring and emotional movie, with twists and turns and heartwarming moments. Sam the main character. Her husband gets shot and she is about to kill herself, until a little girl gets hit by a car and that changes things for Sam when she is at the hospital with the girl, that is when she meets up with the other main character Joe who is her old friend when they were friends and she changes from them on. Some things I liked about the movie was how Sam acted with the kids how well she god along with them and she kind of took them in and worked with them and made them happier children. The setting in the farm was beautiful and made me feel happy. The music in the movie was kind of not what I expected it was just weird and I did not like it that much. I loved all the characters I think they played there roles really well and they made the movie dramatic. I can honestly rate this movie 10 stars I loved how the movie played out and how emotional it was, how it made you feel warm inside to see how there are good people in the world and how well they work together.
If I'm being honest I only had to watch this movie for school and there are very few movies I have watched in school that I liked. This review is entirely because I need a grade. The only things I really liked were the settings and the acting. Many of the places the film show are accurate while being a beautiful backdrop at the same time, though this seems almost accidental considering the rest of the film. I really didn't like the movie at all for the sake of being a movie, truly poor musical taste in my opinion, the whole message of the movie was far too cheesy, real story or not. The acting was well delivered and the actors seemed to actually be the people they were playing, I have no complaints, they are one of the only good parts of the film. I mainly liked that they seemed to be real people instead of some guy reading lines. Whether or not someone can relate is truly a situational event, any old Joe can relate to a guy named Joe, any redhead can relate to the redheaded female protagonist. I liked two things in this movie, and frankly I didn't find it to be worth the five minutes I took writing this review.
At the beginning Sam, the main character, was about to shot herself in the ally that her husband was murdered in. she hears a car crash and find a little girl hit by a car. This leads to her finding her long lost childhood friend. We find out that he runs a foster home program and helps support kids from troubled homes. He has bad kidneys that almost kill him towards the end of the movie. This movie has many good and bad cinematographic aspects. It is overdone and cliché a lot of the time. The music score is muddy at times with misleading and wrongfully placed songs. I'm giving this movie a 8/10 stars because of the music and slight cliché moments, it had good acting and the child actors were great for being child actors.
