Redundant and unnecessary.
Good start, but then it gets ruined
Absolutely the worst movie.
Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.
This is an very amateurish attempt at movie-making. The characters are one-dimensional; the plot is predictable; the dialogue is trite; the set design is cheap-looking, and the acting is sub-par.What is the most disappointing thing though is that the set-up had a whole bunch of potential for something very funny. Jean-Claude Van Damme gives us his typical overacting, but in way making fun of himself and his stereotypical persona. This feature could have been a good cornerstone on which to build a lost-in-the-jungle story. But the film-makers decided (wrongly) that a better choice would be to riff on The Lord of the Flies. Unfortunately, once that decision was made, the predictability of the plot was inevitable. (I am even willing to overlook the underlying faulty premise that an employer would needlessly send his employees on a team-building exercise when teamwork is not an essential part of their employment, but clearly that flaw should have been fixed too.) There is nothing of enough quality otherwise to offset the bad plot choice. There is very little here to warrant any of your movie-watching time.To see my other movie reviews, please visit:https://nomorewastedmovienights.wordpress.com
If you're looking for some laughs and to see Jean Claude van Damme being hilariously ridiculous then this movie is good for a watch.Basic premise is Office Space meets Lord of the Flies with JCVD thrown into the mix.JCVD is a welcome addition to the cast, definitely poking a lot of fun at himself in this role. The main actor is almost a carbon copy of the lead from Office Space in terms of his persona and his back-story. The supporting cast are great, especially the "evil" co-worker.Nothing deep or serious here. All in all just a funny romp worth watching.
Let's put van Damme in the Jungle, pair him with Adam Brody and some other comedians and see what happens. That seems to be the motto of the movie. But while that might not sound that appealing, I thought it worked. Not always, see also some of the awkward lines van Damme has to deliver, but often enough. The movie is more than predictable, you can outright guess when what is coming and who will be getting what (or whom). But that is not the point. And while there is a journey, it's the isolation of the Jungle and the characters (used to work in offices), that make this movie funny. Is there potential for more? Sure! But that doesn't mean this is a bad movie. It's just a inferior one to what some might have expected ... still funny though
The movie maker might have thought using Van Damme would brighten up this movie but terribly failed. It is not funny, it is not adventurous and it is not even look like a big screen movie. The quality of production was the only interesting thought they did not spend it wisely and broadly. You can watch this movie from first to last, but you can't enjoy it any portion of it. This movie was based on a silly concept with okayish actors in it which looked like a weekend movie that aired on a television. Hope you guys won't end in a disappointment like me for choosing this movie to watch.✰✰✰✰/10
