Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
After playing with our expectations, this turns out to be a very different sort of film.
It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
I've seen a lot of terrible fictional jesus this jesus that movies... well they are all atrocious but this one wins by a mile. Tried to last 45 minutes thinking it could get anywhere but forget it: it does not. Will just get you sickToo many quality movies out there: don't waste a minute on this one.
Alex stars and acts as screenwriter and scriptwriter of this Christian film that deals with paternity.Courageous tells a story about four law enforcement officers - Adam Mitchell, Nathan Hayes, David Thomson, and Shane Fuller - together with a worker named Javier that deals with fatherhood issues in their respective families.Things begin to change as they started to provide attention to it when Adam's young daughter passed away. They started to put things into perspective by becoming close to the Lord and provide more time with their respective families particularly the needs of their children. No question about it that this is a film solely for believers. Non- Christians will definitely fail to appreciate it considering that issues dealing with fatherhood was resolved through fostering a better relationship with the Lord. Also,we get to see a lot of issues being tackled that the story becomes over-plotted that the resolution of the conflicts becomes primarily having trust in the Lord and spending more time with him just as they spend more time with their family amidst their busy schedules. But nevertheless,it is still a good film as it encourages fathers to be responsible.
Alex and Stephen Kendrick's Courageous provides us a film that would like to address fathers to become responsible towards their families particularly the needs of their children. This Christian movie that stars Alex Kendrick himself together with Ken Bevel,Kevin Downes,Ben Davies and Robert Amaya tells a story about four cops that faces family problems particularly becoming fathers due to their demanding schedule. But things began to change when one of the cop's young daughter died in an unexpected accident. These officers started to look into themselves as fathers and started to deal with their role as parents to their children particularly teen-agers.While it was definitely a great movie,non-Christians who do not subscribe to the religious beliefs will definitely not appreciate it.Also, the story handled too many situations for its own good.It maybe go well as they resolution of most of the fatherhood issues was primarily to foster a better relationship with the Lord through prayer and scriptures which apparently won't sit well with the non- believers and realists alike.Nevertheless,it was still a nice to have a film addressing fathers to man up to their role as dads especially to their children.
This movie was doing so well.I was putting up with the religious undertones, but the ending just went way over the top! I certainly wasn't expecting, nor did I appreciate, the preaching at the viewer in the end.It was totally unnecessary, and brought my score from a 9, to barely a 3.People behind this film should remove the cult-like rantings. If they ever want to make real money. And if you think that any publicity is good publicity, ttrust me, in this case. There is no way known that I could, or would, ever recommend this movie to anyone.
