A Disappointing Continuation

As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

Another modern adaptation of "Romeo and Juliet" with action located in Barcelona, this being the Spanish version of the Italian film "Tre metri sopra il cielo". An impetuous boy (read bandit), through his despicable behavior, causes a high society girl to fall in love with him.Although today's love relationships are perverted (in this case, relationships among teenagers), this film takes it to a new level such is the stupidity of behaviors. So a bully steals a girl's wallet - from Katina, a minor character - and she falls in love with him? The main character (Babi) is persecuted, offended, mistreated, almost suffers a provoked traffic accident, sees her best friend be beaten and then falls in love with the aggressor Hugo? I'm not saying it's impossible, but portraying it as normal is not normal. Yet for a movie with adolescents as the target audience, what models of behavior are we transmitting them? I admit that I did not like any character although I can empathize a little with the revolt and fury demonstrated by Hugo because of his background, but the characterization of this fury is too excessive and unrealistic. Dislocated and incoherent behavior throughout the film by all the characters, but I suppose it is also a true portrait of our day: we are all lost and we do not know what we want, adolescents or adults.Despite a decent direction and loose performances, I cannot give it more than 3/10 due to the message it conveys, which is: be stupid and you will live a great love story, even if it is doomed from the start. I would give 2/10 to this movie, but at least in the end Hugo seems to have a kind of slight epiphany that will hopefully change his temperament, the only positive message in the film, hence the extra point for 3/10. We'll see how things go in the sequel "Tengo ganas de ti".

Exciting drama plenty of emotion , thrills , fights and a deep love story , being based on the novel of the same name by Federico Moccia. Mario Casas leads the cast of this ¨Three Meters Above The Sky¨ the story of two young people who belong to different worlds ; this one starts with a misfit , impulsive , unconscious young man nicknamed ¨H¨ (Mario Casas) , leader of a band of violent teenagers . Meanwhile , H is reconnecting with the past so that it means fighting and also a new love . When he is driving his powerful motorcycle he meets a beautiful teenager , Babi (Maria Valverde), the girl from upper-middle class that was educated in goodness and innocence . Babi reluctant at first but finally falls in love for him . Along the way , ¨H¨ gets mixed up with some tough as well as bad guys and is embodied in endless struggles and illegal motorbike races . Sensitive as well as romantic drama is loaded with an enjoyable love story , soap opera , lingering shots of wonderful as well as youthful faces , twisted situations and with a distinctly Spanish idiosyncrasy . It is the chronicle of a love improbable , almost impossible between two maladjusted young people : Mario Casas and Maria Valverde but inevitable dragging in a frantic journey of family opposition , motorcycle races , difficult romance and full of violence . Although is filled with predictability and cliché-ness the film results out to be pretty entertaining , but overlong . It turns out to be pleasantly fun that offers no intellectual stimulus whatsoever ; an exercise in pure escapism in which entertainment and thrilling happenings are guaranteed .Passable acting by Mario Casas as Hache , a rebellious boy who has an appetite for risk and danger in the limit of common sense , a ¨rebel without a cause¨ , in James Dean'style . This is Mario Casas's most important screen appearance in screen and pretty well Marta Valderde as the inexperienced and innocent adolescent . And agreeable and charming Marina Salas as Katina , her best friend . As shown in the film, H and Babi develop a relationship , and actually the two actors developed a relationship of their own in 2010 , though it is known that the two broke up in September of 2014 ; and subsequently Marta Valverde married to prestigious musical conductor Gustavo Dudamel . As you should be aware , than similar from US films with romantic touches , you do get to see people having sex in this , not explicit , but there are naked bodies , and some strong sexual scenes . Ample support cast formed by newcomers who would have an acceptable and uneven career , such as Nerea Camacho , Alvaro Cervantes of ¨Carlos I¨ series , Andrea Duro of ¨Olmos and Robles¨ series , Pablo Rivero of ¨Cuentame¨ series , Diego Martín , and Cristina Plazas , Jordi Bosch as parents of Bibi . I couldn't finish it. It started like a chick-flick (I like chick-flicks), then, after a few minutes a train of logical nonsense and moral absence started. The performances were good, but the storyline totally disappointed me and made me angry. A really overreacting young man with his unadapted friends and a low self esteem high-school girl who didn't care about anything, act like what they do is cool by all means.By the time I had to stop it, the things that I learned from this movie were: It's OK to steal. You could fall in-love with the guy who is robbing you. You can crash at a party and harass women. You can destroy a house. You can vandalize cars. You can hit a nice guy who is protecting his friend. You can massacre the guy who is having an affair with your mom. A teenage girl can ride a motorcycle wearing only underwear. It's OK to betray your friend. You can fall in-love with the guy who punch the friend who was protecting you. All of these because a teenage girl likes a "hot" dude.If I had a teenage daughter I wouldn't let her watch it. It disrespects women and it's a really bad example for young people.

What a Movie. What a Story. Nevertheless, a tragic ending but I found it kept me at the edge of my chair wanting to know what is going to happen next. The English sub titles assisted me very much to understand the movie perfectly and the perfect way the main star cast moves about in the entire story.I saw this movie and the second part a few days earlier and literally had my eyes moist. Tragic ending for both the movies is truly disappointing. Just as the earlier reviewer mannin11(Bahamas) has stated in the review dated 22-oct-2011the story is about a rough and tough guy and a well bred decent girl. H too belongs to a well to do family though, for whatever reasons, he opted for this reckless life. Ultimately, something does touch him that brings him closer to Babi who doesn't understand anything about him but thinks H to be a usual guy looking around for someone to fool around with. Her innocence and frank childish behavior bites through H who seems to fall in love with her. I get a feel that H truly understands love only when he deflowers Babi and then tries to woo her with favors and the sorts. In my view H expects only love in his life. Rest of it comes secondary. His tragedy in losing his mother to the man she loves and living with her boyfriend rather than with her own family is something that disturbs him a lot and leads him to more frantic search for true love. This love it appears he finds in Babi who finally reciprocates though I would say is only puppy love when H is madly in love with her. The expression on his face and attitudes when Babi is disturbed or troubled by anything has been caught very well. Truly Mario will become a great star in future. For H action speaks louder than words and that is not disliked by almost all.I also saw the second part which brought in more moistness to my eyes. I was truly expecting H and Babi to reunite forgetting the past and forgiving all misgivings. They do come closer but the same height in that love does not seem to reach. Moreover, the sub titles in English language are very poor and bad hence could not understand the dialogs well. I disliked the story of H getting connected to Gin who actually stands no class when compared to Babi. In the second part both show immense maturity. Though H still continues to have a lot of love for Babi, still she doesn't seem to be able to convey back the same. H is still hurt but still continues. In fact, I would have been happier to watch H of now taking his life more seriously and taking up a job or completing his studies. What he was doing in London for two years is anyone's guess. Time wasted is time gone. If at all H really loved Babi, (he does know) but he should understand better and try to come up to her expectations irrespective of whether she finally accepts him or not.I am requesting IMDb and other officials if they could contact the story writer, producer and director of these two movies if they could come out with a third part wherein H and Babi finally reunite and become one forever. After this is what Love stories are all about – that they live happily ever after.Love conquers all. So goes the saying. And I would love to see such an ending. Oh, yes, and please ensure good English sub titles.I also saw Mario's another movie "UNIT 7" with excellent sub titles in English and here too Mario has performed well as Detective Angel.
