Wentworth Audience Reviews

Perry Kate Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
TaryBiggBall It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.
Phillida Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
Wyatt There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
dkeaildrulx Since this show is from Australia and I am from Canada, this show was fairly unknown to me. However, a friend recommended this TV show. The show was available on Netflix which made it very accessible. This is the best TV recommendation anyone has ever given me.The story-line has some similarities to 'Orange Is The New Black' referring to a female prison and the difficulties. However, this show is far superior compared to OITNB. The storytelling, character development, and tension building is amazing. The season arcs and pay offs are very satisfying. The stand-out performances are Kate Atkinson (Vera Bennett), Danielle Cormack (Bea Smith), Pamela Rabe (Joan Ferguson) and Robbie Magasiva (Will Jackson). However, all the characters become more engaging and interesting throughout the series.I highly recommend this show to anyone reading this.
michelleannetteh I watched one episode as so much reference had been taken from the original series "Prisoner". Character names, the name of the Prison. The original Drama is exceptional and I was curious to see what a series using so much of its subject may have. If a series remake is completely different to the original and bears absolutely no quality of any kind, in character, plot, atmosphere. This is utter repulsive trash and to place the names and references to one of the most outstanding Australian Film Drama series is a disgrace. It amounts to lack of imagination to have a series that stands alone. This series should not reference the original Drama "Prisoner" whatsoever, as it is repulsive viewing and cannot be compared to a quality classic, nor should it place reference to it.
Bryan Tull Being american I find their accents fairly hard to understand sometimes but that's the only flaw I see. This is as good as the classic Oz and WAY better than OITNB, which for some reason people like. My mom won't watch any movies or TV but I had her watch the first episode and she binged the entire series. I feel that if this was an american show it would be huge.
deboraey I just saw episode 3 . . . and decided to stop wasting my time on this very mediocre series! There are - and have been - far and far better TV-series on the subject of "women in prison". One of the best i ever saw was the BBC-series BAD GIRLS (1999) created by Maureen Chadwick, and it ran for 8 seasons! Also superb is/was the more recent ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK, that added a completely new dimension on the women-in-prison-subject namely humor; and i highly recommend it. But Wentworth is nothing more than a badly written, poorly acted and directed, completely one-dimension staged leftover with contains elements of different movies and TV-shows on that subject. Furthermore the characters are so completely one-dimension (all-good or all-bad) that it's like the show was written somewhere in 1950. Take my advice . . . don't bother with this . . !
