Through film and television footage and the personal recollections of those who lived in these countries, the series offers a glimpse of what daily life was like during the years of Communist rule.
The Lost World of Communism debuted on BBC Two on Saturday 14 March 2009 at 9:00pm. There is also a book which accompanies the series.
Dark Days in Monkey City
Dark Days in Monkey City is an Animal Planet documentary about the lives of wild Toque Macaques in Sri Lanka. In the tradition of Meerkat Manor it followed the stories of individual primates, but differed from earlier shows by adding special effects and transitional animation.
It was devised as part of Animal Planet's strategy to re-brand itself as an "entertainment" network. Its entire 13 episode run was broadcast in 2009.

The 2009 season of the series, which aired on TV3, consisted of five parts. The first episode aired on 14 September 2009 and was watched by approximately 600,000 viewers.
Stossel
Stossel is a weekly American talk show, hosted by John Stossel, highlighting current consumer issues with a libertarian viewpoint. The television program debuted on December 10, 2009, on the Fox Business Network and airs Thursdays. It originally aired at 8:00 pm EST, but was moved to 9:00 pm EST, the time slot during which it currently airs. In 2013, Fox News Channel began to replay the show on Sundays at 10:00 pm EST.
Undercover Princes
Undercover Princes is a BBC Three reality TV show which took three royal claimants from foreign cultures and placed them in Brighton where they had to 'live and date' like normal people. The idea for the programme came from the 1988 Eddie Murphy movie Coming to America.
The contestants were Remigius Jerry Kanagarajah, in exile from the kingdom of Jaffna; Africa Zulu, a Zulu chief from South Africa; and Manvendra Singh Gohil of Rajpipla in north west India.
The three men lived in a house together and the primary focus is on their search for a 'princess' in the UK whilst at the same time getting used to having to do things for themselves. All three ultimately failed to find a lasting relationship.
The series was narrated by Dawn Porter. A female counterpart, Undercover Princesses, was made.
