This film tells the complex story of men in prison, victims of crime, and an artistic partnership that helps break down barriers between them. As prisoners, victims, and victim advocates collaborate on a mural about healing from crime, their views on punishment, remorse, and forgiveness collide, sometimes harshly. But as the project progresses, mistrust begins to give way to surprising moments of human contact and common purpose. The project challenges each side to recognize and respect the other’s essential humanity and worth – a small, but significant step toward a more healing and restorative form of justice

A new English adaptation of the classic French tragedy Phèdre by Jean Racine (1639-1699). It retells the ancient Greek tale of the wife of the Atenian King Theseus, who conceived a forbidden love for his son (by an earlier wife) Hyppolytus. All ends badly for all.

At first, singer Ferry Heijne dances among a group of women, but soon he literally loses his grip on the situation. Via an open-plan office - full of mindlessly typing men and musicians in a conference room - he finds himself in a photocopier and ends up as a black-and-white illustration in a book.

Yamashiro Chikako channels the stories of survivors of the Battle of Okinawa through lip-synch and superimposition. With her body as an archive, she stages the link between the donors and inheritors of trauma and, ultimately, the impossibility of transferring memory across generational lines.

The documentary film "Child" is a touching drama based on the fate of a child from a mixed marriage between an Australian woman and a Macedonian man. In fact, it is part of the fate of a large number of children in conditions of large world migrations.
Personally Speaking: A Long Conversation with Stuart Hall
In this stimulating and eloquent four-hour interview, conducted by the literary journalist Maya Jaggi and directed by Mike Dibb, Hall reflects on his life and career, talking personally and in depth about the trajectory of his work and how it has intersected with broader political movements. In a conversation both intimate and sweeping in scope, Hall describes his migration from Jamaica to England, his immersion in left-wing politics in London, the influence of Raymond Williams and E.P. Thompson on the evolution of his thought, and the context within which the early classic texts of cultural studies were written. Hall also shares his pessimism about the economic recession and his optimism about Barack Obama's victory. Future analysis of Hall's work, and of cultural studies in general, will need to take account of this fascinating and indispensable first-person account of his life and ideas.

I am Ghazzah
I am Ghazza was shot right after the 2008-2009 attack on Gaza. This attack left 1300 killed and 6000 injured. The film addresses the social and psychological impacts of war on the people of Gaza through the testimony of Dr. Eyad Sarraj, a psychotherapist. Dr. Eyad discusses the short and long term impact of war on the people, especially the children. This film shares some of the individual stories that were not covered by the mainstream media. Asma Beseiso, a 25-year-old Jordanian filmmaker, could not believe what she saw on the news. Media coverage only told a small part of the story of what was happening in Gaza. Beseiso left Amman in February 2009 and headed to her parents’ hometown in Gaza a month after the Israeli bombardment.
Stoner
Four stoners on the verge of adulthood still have some growing to do. Michael, wearing thin his mother's patience and feeling the burden of his own irresponsible behavior, decides to give up on his dream of being a writer and become a respectable member of society -- by selling weed. His roommates and friends (Mark, Dan, and Kirun) all engage in their own idiosyncratic behavior as they navigate the thick haze of college and find themselves confronted with the consequences of their respective (in)actions. In this darkly comic, yet surprisingly sweet and relatable film, these stoners must learn to unrest their development so that they can go higher.

The disaster sickened over half of the town's population, killed 20 people and hundreds of animals.
Nothing ever happened
An experimental animation that illustrates a surreal internal landscape occupied by child creatures and animal imagery. A child goes off to school and must reevaluate everything they have known. Fish, dogs, cats & birds interact with fish tanks, living room furniture, poppies, school busses and the first artificial heart technology. They morph and combine with one another, changing masks and creating new creatures in the strangely internalized and claustrophobic environment that they inhabit. Relationships between the objects, animals and sound create a commentary on seeing and invisibility as experienced by the body. The menacing feeling of animalistic predators and prey seeps into every scene, as odd sexual metaphors manifest with alien-like qualities. Everything points against one of the narrative claims that, “Nothing ever happened.”
Peter on the Way to Heaven
