International ballet star Carlos Acosta curates and stars in a mixed programme of vibrant Cuban dance inspired by his homeland and performed and recorded on the main stage of the Royal Opera House in July 2014. Uniting dancers and choreographers from the Royal Ballet, Rambert, Cuban National Ballet and Danza Contemporánea de Cuba, Acosta explores the varied styles of Cuban contemporary dance, presenting world premieres by contemporary Cuban choreographers and Cuban dance stars. Above & Beyond: ABGT100 - Live from Madison Square Garden
On Saturday, Oct. 18, they broadcast the show's 100th episode from a DJ booth in the center of New York's Madison Square Garden. The benchmark show sold out in 12 hours and provided the audience with a sneak peek at the group's forthcoming album, We Are All We Need, which is due out early next year on Anjunabeats/Ultra Music. A Curious Life
Borne out of the anarcho-squatting free-festival scene of the eighties the Levellers have survived over 25 years of music press vitriol, drink and drug addictions as well as many barren years in the wilderness. But the band had seven consecutive gold albums throughout the 90s, sold out their own festival for the last ten years and run their own creative centre, the Metway. Via the eccentric artist, archivist, whiskey loving bassist Jeremy Cunningham we are taken on a journey; how the band rose to fame and how they survived. A potted history of 25 years of subsidised dysfunctionalism. An uplifting tale of battling demons, that reminds us that behind every band there is always a story of struggle for expression, acceptance and survival.
