Cats on a Pedal Boat
Not the sort of film we usually see coming from Israel, this teen horror-comedy is a loving tribute to American films of the 80s. Mili and Noam are high-school students who intend to celebrate their six-month anniversary by losing their virginity. What begins as an innocent pedal boat ride full of raging hormones, becomes a struggle against monstrous cats out for blood. This self-parodying low, low budget, independently produced feature is filled with surprises as well as hilarious oddball charm.

Transmigration
Curtis, an American looking for an escape to a foreign land, joins his estranged Brazilian biologist brother Francis on a spontaneous journey to find a rare jungle beetle in the Amazon. As he enters a venom induced hallucinogenic dream the two brothers are captured as slaves by a fantasy tribe of Amazonian women, and given to the tribal queen. With the aid of another slave, Curtis must plot a rescue of Francis and their escape, unless he finds his new situation better than the life he left behind.

He is uncertain how to tell his wife and decides for his own sake to conceal the end of the world from her. Trapped by his own lie Walter gradually remembers his almost forgotten love for his wife and is determined to celebrate the nicest last day on earth for her.
Automata
Automata is the eerie, black-humoured story of Henry, the last in a long line of duck hunters. The film examines the connection between hunter and prey and obsession in the face of extinction. It posits the question 'what would happen to someone at the tipping point; the moment where they are directly responsible for the extinction of an entire species' Duck hunting in Australia is a very contentious issue and every year hunters and protesters clash. The experimental side is evidenced with the lack of dialog, non-linear narrative and a 'score' by Belgian sound designer Christina Clar. The majority of the sound tracking and design was completed before the edit in Australia, thus reversing the usual process. The sound post production was completed in Brussels and includes recordings from deep within remote caves.

The House
The Korean Academy of Film Arts has produced an animation for 3 consecutive years through a collaborative project. Considering the severe reality of Korean animation in that it lacks an industrial infrastructure, "The House" demonstrates the possibilities of Korean animation and the efficiency of collective production. While comparing apartments in the downtown core to the shabby environment of a marginalized district, "The House" portrays the collapse of the spirits dwelling at the house. As such the adventure of Ga-young and the spirits in the house becomes a criticism of modern society: enlightenment via animation. Although this animation may not have the most delicate or original style, the 5 animators that worked on this film unleashed their imaginations, ultimately showcasing the power of a collective process and a pleasure of the collective imagination.

In doing so, one might assert that gaming can no sooner be understood than that of any other form of addiction: if it's an addiction at all.

Boys Village
The Boys' Village was once a village-style holiday camp located in West Aberthaw, on the south coast of Wales.
