Golden Dawn: A Personal Affair
Golden Dawn: A Personal Affair
What’s in the mind of the neo-nazi next-door? “My partner in life is a Jew, one of my sons is gay, another is an anarchist, and I am a left-wing feminist as well as a daughter of immigrants. If Golden Dawn comes to power our only problem will be which wagon they will put us on.” A journalist is delving for years into the organization of the Greek neo-Nazi party Golden Dawn. The financial collapse, the political instability and the family relations are placed into the spotlight as the documentary is trying to discover “what’s in the head of Golden Dawners, who pose as victims of the system.”

Staatenlos - Klaus Rózsa, Fotograf
Klaus Rozsa, a well-known and politically active photographer, lived in Zurich for decades as a stateless individual. All of his applications for naturalisation were refused on political grounds. In 1956 he fled Hungary, growing up in Switzerland with a Jewish father who had survived Auschwitz and Dachau. Due to the extreme proximity of such a fate, the camera led him repeatedly to places where injustice was done. It was this particular quality of his camerawork that proved fateful for him.

The Tramway Hotel
The Tramway Hotel
The story is set in the Belgrade city center, in the tramway no 2. Once a defining border between the city’s "elite" and "the others", the tramway line no 2 now suffers the consequences of the post-war economic and social decline. The reality boards the line, literally: the war refugees, the social dropouts, the jobless, the alcoholics, the beggars, the retired, and the newcomers that could not fit into the new order, all seeking for a sanctuary. Their entire life is packed in their plastic bags. The passengers go round in circles. The tramway no 2 nickname has been “Hotel Dvojka” (“The Tramway Hotel”) for years now. Like a mirror, coming suddenly after so many years, they are the specters of the past. “We” get to know them, following their daily routine, discovering each of their personal stories step by step. Finally, we realize that their fate could easily become our own.

Drums of Resistance
Drums of Resistance
When ex-Yugoslavia began to fall apart, the Serbian regime banned Kosovar Albanians from participating in public life. Albanian employees across public institutions were fired. Albanian media outlets were closed down. Many elementary and high schools were closed to Albanian students and the entire university system was shut down. During the 1990's in Kosovo, teaching resumed in private apartments, houses and basements stores. This documentary shows how a parallel society and reality was organized. It shows how segregation and apartheid became the norm. Besa Luci and Mathieu Jouffre wrote the script for this challenging film together. In it people are in a relaxed atmosphere: eating, drinking, chatting and revisiting vividly one of the most exciting as well as tragic periods in the history of Kosovo.

The Unimaginable Journey Of Peter Ertel Film
THE UNIMAGINABLE JOURNEY OF PETER ERTEL is an unflinching account of the life of a man who defied insurmountable odds in an unforgiving environment and who later found peace in Cleveland, Ohio. This film combines re-creation storytelling with Ertel’s own brave recounting of his harrowing years in the Nazi army, meeting his wife’s family (also members of the German resistance), surviving the Russian Winter, and then being accepted into a Jewish company in Ohio. Ertel grew up with a poet’s mind and an artist’s curiosity, and this film conveys these sensibilities—the very traits that saved his life on so many occasions—with a tale so bold, brave, and beautiful it will restore your faith that humanity can survive even the darkest of days.

Rosenberg's Plan. The Nuremberg Lessons
Rosenberg's Plan. The Nuremberg Lessons
A documentary about one of the main ideologists of the Third Reich Alfred Rosenberg and the milestones of his teachings, which proved to be important in the contemporary world. Among them are the focus on separatist movements, attack on Christianity, reevaluation of history. The fall of the Soviet Union and the disintegration of Yugoslavia. The division of the Ukraine. Wars in the Middle East. Sanctions against Russia. These seemingly dissimilar events are likely to have the same basis. Too much misunderstanding. The goal is not unity but dissociation. And the new enemy – terrorism, fascism of the present day – is making full use of it.
