This special connects the events of the game with the events of the movie and "reveal the last truth". The protagonist of the special is Dave; a character who also appears in the main movie. The special takes place in both 2024 (the year in which the movie takes place) and 2025 (the year in which the game .hack//Versus takes place).

Mirage
On the screen, divided into two symmetrical parts, we see almost identical, seemingly abstract images covered with black salt. After a while, we see the silhouette of a woman and a man in the shapes, and atmospheric music complements the image of their relationship. The images, painted with salt on both halves of the screen, begin to appear. However, at some point they may differ slightly, just as the images created by each partner differ in this relationship.
My Name Is Boffer Bings
The film is based on the well-known short story 'Oil of Dog'. The rough and simple chalk animation technique is match for the absurd and surrealistic style of the story. The line-drawing character representation over a black background is in the flavour of film noir. This is the story of Boffer Bings, who lives in a village where his father manages a prosperous business producing dog-oil. Boffer Bings not only assists his father in procuring dogs for distill, but also helps to carry away the debris of his mother's studio, where she disposes of unwelcome babes. Martin is accomplished in his jobs, until his accidental invention steers the family business into an economic boom. Tragedy is inevitable.
