Konterr Brilliant and touching

Aubrey Hackett While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

Hattie I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

Phillida Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

Jesper Brun The Emperor's New Groove is enjoyable with plenty of laughs provided mainly by our villainess, Yzma, and her dim-witted sidekick, Kronk. The comedy is also the movie's biggest strength along with its vocal cast. David Spade as emperor Kuzco gives this self-absorbed and bratty character a weird likability which is admirable. John Goodman as the peasant Pacha is pretty much your average John Goodman role, but he does that well. They are also good for some great laughs when they are together. As I mentioned at first, Yzma and Kronk are simply hilarious. I slapped my thigh several times watching them. Eartha Kid and Patrick Warburton both do excellent voice-work. Aside from the comedic proficiency I find it pretty average. The animation looks a lot like a Saturday afternoon show, but still better than the later 2D abomination of "Home On The Range" (2004). The setting of the story is pretty original, but the story itself is kind of recycled, not bad, just an average "egotistical-asshole- learns-how-to-be-nice-to-others" story. But what the hell. It works! The Emperor's New Groove is definitely worth your time.

taylorhammons When listing my top 5 favorite Disney movies, I often get weird looks as I list this newer, and highly underrated film behind classics like Peter Pan, 101 Dalmatians, Lady and the Tramp, and Beauty and the Beast. In my opinion, however, The Emperor's New Groove deserves to be in the running as one of the newer Disney classics. The movie follows Emperor Kuzko, a seemingly selfish young ruler who is turned into a llama by one of his former advisers. Though the idea of a selfish ruler learning his place in the world is not an uncommon theme in movies, especially Disney movies, this film does it in a new way, making it seem fresh and original. Add some fabulous and easily quotable lines, the incomparable Eartha Kitt, an always hilarious Patrick Walburton, and David Spade in one of the few roles where he is actually tolerable, and you have the makings of a Disney classic. It's just a shame that this near perfect film doesn't get the recognition it deserves. So, if you've never seen this wonderful little movie, do so immediately. It will be well worth the hour and half, and I think you'll see why I think this movie deserves so much more than it's gotten. Hopefully, with age, it will be seen for what it is- an absolute masterpiece.

Davis P The emperor's new groove is truly an underrated Disney film. It is highly entertaining, well written and funny. The voice actors are perfect fits for their animated characters, especially Yzma. I would to take a minute to talk about the character of Yzma, she is just an awesome character, very well written, well designed, and extremely well voiced. Could there have been a better actor to voice Kronk?? Patrick Warburton is so perfect to voice Yzma's hopelessly ignorant assistant. David Spade is very fitting for the self obsessed, selfish, spoiled rotten emperor Kuzco. The story is fun, well paced, funny, and heart warming towards the end. This is one movie the whole family will surely adore. It also is a very healthy movie for children to view since it shows the before and after of Kuzco, going from being extremely selfish and materialistic to actually caring for others and becoming a nice, decent human being. I especially love the scenes that involve Yzma and kronk interacting, their characters have hilarious chemistry. I encourage everyone no matter young or old to rent or buy this the next time you see it available. "Pull the lever Kronk. WRONG LEVER!!!!!" 10/10!

rbn_lrk-1 I remember back in the early internet days that Emperor's New Groove should originally had been the musical Kingdom of the sun.It would had been interesting to have seen how Kingdom of the Sun would had been.Now this movie is about a spoiled emperor.But, he gets turned into a lama on his Birthday instead of getting a poison.Then the lama and his friends goes out on a journey back to the palace.On the way a lot of fourth wall jokes are shown.In the meanwhile two villains chases them down.Like in a bizarre scene in a café.But, at least the llama gets back to a man again.The background animation is beautiful.Some of the animation parts are like the good old fashioned ones like a drunk Looney Tunes.Way back then it did not fare so good, but now it is cult.10/10
