Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.

This "Big Picture Show" is one of the best finales for anything....ever! The opening 20 minutes quite possibly is one of the best pieces of animation in Cartoon Network history with slow build up and huge payoff. That's not to say that the rest of the movie isn't good, it is, but the opening 20 minutes is just phenomenal. The actual animation itself, the tension, and the writing are just perfect. If it carried that for the entirety of the movie, I would easily give this 10 stars, maybe even 11. That being said, the movie itself is quite good for Ed Edd n Eddy and feels like a loving homage to fans of this cartoon and a passion project like the modern Samurai Jack reboot. For a comedy cartoon like this, I never expected it to get emotional and deep, nor did I expect it to get dark. And this is for a series which has a creepy theory that everybody is dead and in purgatory! The main trio are the stars in this story and every second they have on screen is just golden from the moment they are introduced to the encounter with Eddy's brother. The problem is that the movie spends a lot of time on the side characters. Of them, only Rolf, Johnny, Sarah, and Jimmy are actually interesting. The whole thing with Kevin and the whole bike subplot kinda comes out of nowhere and doesn't do anything exceptional and the Kanker sisters don't do that much despite having considerable screen time. Also some jokes don't really work, but they are pretty rare so it's not a major flaw. What really makes the "Big Picture Show" amazing is that it has so much love put into it. This easily could have been a cheap gimmik to make some easy money but the creators really went out of their way to make this as amazing as possible. The sound editing and cartoon violence are the best parts of the animation (it feels like Tom and Jerry violence and it's so beautiful.) As for sound editing, every sound effect is just great and it's so satisfying to hear constant animal sounds, it makes everything seem chaotic which perfectly goes well with the tone and atmosphere. Overall I'd give the opening a 10/10 and the rest a solid 8 out of 10. This is wonderfully made and easily the best TV special ever made, at least for Cartoon Network.

Watching Ed, Edd n Eddy for a very long time was quite an honor for me. I remember having Cartoon Network back in 1999 and never watched this since 2000. My goodness it has all ended with a bang.So the movie is about Eddy's scam gone wrong and everybody from the cul-de-sac is chasing after the Eds who want to the living sh*t out them. After getting away, they seem to be in the middle of nowhere until Eddy finds out his brother's place is a sanctuary. Sometime, they find Eddy's brother's place in an amusement park in which the gang of the cul-de-sac and the Kanker sisters find them. Eddy's brother shows up and starts playing uncle with Eddy. Then everybody stood up to Eddy and somewhat rebelled against his brother. Then Eddy knocks him out with the trailer door and confesses that he just wanted attention. Then everybody just like started respecting the Eds.All I can say is this movie was just a ride. Starts out with a long chase scene we have never seen in the show in our life and crazy stuff happens and Eddy's brother makes an exclusive appearance. So what now, GO WATCH IT! If you've been an Ed, Edd n Eddy fan for life. All I can say is Thanks for the memories. It was the best ride Edder! Like what Double-D says: "It only took 130 episodes, 4 specials, and a movie."1999-2009. F*ck CN nowadays they got rid of all their good shows.10/10

I was a huge "Ed, Edd n Eddy" fan when I was younger. Now I'm much older and beyond these types of cartoon. But I still had to check out this movie for the nostalgia. I loved the show when I was younger, and enjoyed the movie quite a bit.All the typical zaniness that you'd expect from the Eds and had seen in the television series, plus more, is present in the movie and very reasonably so.The only thing I can really complain about was the ending, which I won't reveal. I think it seemed a bit rushed. Even though it's a cartoon, I see it as unrealistic, even in the AKA-Cartooniverse. The majority of people I have talked to about the movie saw no problem with it, though, so maybe I'm just too bitter.Overall It was a nice little 90 minute trip back to my childhood. If you loved the series, you need to see this movie.
