Very disappointing...
Let's be realistic.
I gave it a 7.5 out of 10
A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
(Plot) A man finds out that his best friend's wife is having an affair behind his back, and will do anything to uncover the truth. The only thing that truly stuck out about this movie was Channing Tatum's hilarious cameo. Other than that, this movie was exactly how I pictured it was going to be; completely mediocre with very little laughs or fun. How is it that the extremely talented and luscious Jennifer Connelly is in this movie? Its way out of her league, and it was so disappointing to see her waste her talents in this. Same goes for Winona Ryder, even if her career has faltered a bit. I can't stand Kevin James, and I dislike Vince Vaughn. I gave this a chance, hoping I might end up being proved wrong. It turns out my gut instincts were right on this one. It's crude, unfunny, and a film that shows nothing but contempt for its audience. It truly makes me sad that movies like this get released often these days and make copious amounts at the box office. Except this one wasn't so lucky It bombed somewhat, making only 48 Million.Final Thoughts: If it shows contempt for its intended audience, why not show nothing but contempt back for it? I'm easily amused, and it still didn't get the job done. Not recommended3.5/10
I didn't hate this movie. It had good moments but honestly I didn't know it was a comedy until I looked the movie up maybe 90% of the way through it. Then it became obvious...FORCED COMEDY. I think I laughed out loud once, when Channing Tatum's character told Vince Vaughn's character "drive safe". THAT was hilarious. Overall this movie was a full meal...full of corn, cheese and sap. I really believe that if they went the route of a true drama it could've been a good movie with some funny moments instead of forced comedy & corny, cheesy, sappy drama. Most of the moments with Channing Tatum's character were utterly ridiculous. I can't count how many times I cringed & said to myself "this is stupid" during the fight scene. But I'm writing this review for a reason. In a small way, I enjoyed it. Heck I watched it all the way through. The final scene was good, though definitely corny, cheesy AND sappy. I liked Jennifer Connelly. Was she the stubborn chick in Bad Boys? Anyway, I liked it...a little bit, and I can't really explain why.
THE DILEMMAThis is a good comedy.I went to the cinema with my girlfriend to watch this a long time ago. We watched it again last night and still thought it was good. The movie is about 2 guys, Vince Vaughn and Kevin James, who are best friends and business partners. They are just trying to land a big contract with the car company, Dodge. Vince catches Kevin's wife fooling around with another man, but he doesn't know if he should tell him or not because he doesn't want to hurt his friend and also let it distract him from the job at hand. Vince then confronts Kevin's wife about it and she bribes him to not say anything. The rest of the movie is about Vince trying to catch her out with funny consequences. The casting is good for this film. I am not a huge Vince Vaughn fan, but I don't mind him. He has made some good films in the past. He does a good job in this film. Kevin James is a funny man, he makes me laugh. I liked him in King of Queens. Vince's girlfriend is played by Jennifer Connelly and Kevin's wife is played by Winona Ryder. My favourite character in the movie is a guy named Zip, played by Channing Tatum. He is so funny in this movie. The story is good, the acting is good and it is directed by Ron Howard who is a legend.I will give this film 7 out of 10.A good comedy with not too much of the romance. Clumsy, over-wrought, graceless. Scenes and dialogue went on way too long, this technique isn't funny, at least in this movie. Has one of those misleading trailers where yup, only 2 minutes of the whole movie is any good. I fast-forwarded most of the movie. Waste of time. Clumsy, over-wrought, graceless.
