I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
A Masterpiece!
The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
Blistering performances.
I really liked this movie. I like these sort of plots where you keep going backwards and forwards so you can find out a little more about what's going on. You spend the whole movie thinking that the mother is simply gone and maybe having an affair with someone. Finally when you finally get an idea of what could've happened to Eve (the mother) becuse it all makes you think that Kat's dad killed her and hid the body into a freezer, Kat opens it and she finds nothing but frozen food, and your idea of her mother's body being in there fades away, but at the end of the movie they reveal that, as you provably expected, that her dad killed Eve because she was seeing Kat's ex boyfriend Phil, but at the very last moment we find out Kat's dad was actually having an affair with Phil. It might be fiction but I believe it reflects what happens when your marriage doesn't work and you are not happy with your life, obviously I don't mean that all of this could happen but it shows how blown up someone's mind can be when you have internal problems. My conclusion is that nothing is what you expect, I really think I made a good choice by picking this movie!
I was captivated. From the start it was a compelling movie that encouraged the viewer to get involved. The reason I didn't vote higher is purely because of the last 10 minutes or so. If you are watching the movie for the first time, stop prior to this.I believe, personally, that a movie should draw you in deep, as if you were a background member of cast. Let your mind and theories go wild before leaving you with a subtle hint of the truth behind the protagonist. You, the viewer are in charge of the ending.White Bird in a Blizzard ticks all the boxes of an indie drama for me. Until the last 10 minutes when it spoon feeds the viewer everything in the plot to figure out the whole movie. The directors did an excellent job and I enjoyed every moment for the entirety, but the "big reveal" I felt detracted from all the ground work they lay. In my opinion, watch, imagine and solve the mystery. Stop early though as choosing one ending to rule them all (a la: lord of the rings ;) ) I felt detracted rather than soothed from what was other wise a rousing and mysterious series of events portrayed through film.
Unfortunately, White Bird in a Blizzard is just plain boring. There are only so many times you can see teenagers talking about and having sex. The story is one dimensional at best, but what makes this hard to watch is just the monotone, depressing state this movie draws you into. Whilst it's task is to show the life change when a parent walks out on you, it just seems to try too hard for emotions to flow, giving it an ambitious feel which ultimately doesn't work. I wish I could have liked this film, but there are too many issues which plague the story and directing. Nothing feels engaging enough for you to understand the characters and everything feels dry and boring with no excitingly entertaining progression in sight. To be honest, I wish I could erase everything about this movie from my mind, all except the gratuitous nudity which, sadly, is its only redeeming factor.
I usually don't like movies like this where you're not completely sure what's going on, and it's sort of slow and flashbacky. But I have to say I liked this film. A lot more than even anticipated. I'm an Eva Green fan, so that's why I wanted to watch it. I didn't know what to think as far as what happened to Eve. There was a lot of sex and I can't say I hated it. I liked Phil and Kat's relationship but it was really hot when she slept with the detective because he was sexy for an older man. As soon as they started taking newspapers off the freezer I suspected that's where Eve would be. And the dream that Kat had definitely confirmed it. But oh my gosh. The ending. I did NOT see that coming!!!! When Eve opens the door, I figured maybe the dad and Mae would be doing it, but HOLY COW IT'S THE DAD AND PHIL!!!! WTF!!!! I was yelling, telling my cat that I did NOT see that one coming! So that made the movie more enjoyable yet. It was slow, but in a good way. It kept me watching and wanting more.
