When rogue stealth-fighter pilot Vic Deakins deliberately drops off the radar while on maneuvers, the Air Force ends up with two stolen nuclear warheads -- and Deakins's co-pilot, Riley Hale, is the military's only hope for getting them back. Traversing the deserted canyons of Utah, Hale teams with park ranger Terry Carmichael to put Deakins back in his box.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
Broken Arrow is a big budget blockbuster film from John Woo starring John Travolta and Christian Slater who are pilots assigned to carry a nuclear weapon when Travolta decides to go rogue. Travolta excels as the bad guy(as also seen in Face Off) and the scenes are over the top in typical Woo fashion. Set pieces aside this is a rudimentary action film one can watch with a few friends.
Great action movie, having seen it many times before it never gets tiresome. Yes... there are quite a few cheesy lines and over the top scenes but thats what you expect from a 90's action film. 3 choppers, a stealth bomber, a train, a copper mine and countless villains destroyed equals an action packed 100 minutes. Slater is a great actor and Travolta plays the villain well. If you like action, cheese and explosions, then this is definitely the film for you.
"Broken Arrow" was my first John Woo movie, so you can imagine the impact of such an action virtuoso on a 15 year-old's mind and the soft spot I've had for this movie ever since. It created quite the thirst.Getting down to it, the movie's memorable mostly because of John Travolta, who's clearly relishing the bad guy role here. It's a balls-to-the-wall performance (keeping with the tone of the movie) as he feasts on the scenery in almost every one of his minutes on screen. Seriously, the guy's working on a higher level than the rest of the cast, and walks away with the movie from the more earnest Slater.Aside from the delectable Samantha Mathis, it's all slo-mo shootouts and explosions. Bottom line, good old-fashioned cheap thrills.7/10
I was rooting for John in this movie to succeed in his plan. I knew that wasn't going to happen but the movie had Christian Slater going up against him. I find Slater to be OK but incredibly bland, the kind of actor who is just there but doesn't add much to the movie in terms of acting or charisma. Travolta on the other hand is overacting and having so much fun being the bad guy I wanted him to kick Slater's ass and ride off into the sunset. Of course this is a typical 80s/90s action movie so the good guy wins and gets the girl but even though Travlolta's character dies he goes out in style. The movie overall is super cheesy and fun, this is what an action movie should be, not the super serious, wannabe realistic schlock we get today. This is balls to the wall fun directed by John Woo who knows how to make a good, fun action flick and make it so corny its laughable but that is the point. Not as good as Hard Target or Face/Off but damn good, solid 7/10.
