Yawn. Poorly Filmed Snooze Fest.
Sadly Over-hyped
what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
I consider myself to be an open minded guy. I see reviews of a movie and they have zero impact one way or the other on my desire or lack thereof to see the film. I see wonderful great reviews and if I was planning to watch the movie anyway then I want to see it more to see if it is as good as they say. Likewise if it has bad reviews I want to see it more to see if it really is that bad in either case the answer is no its neither as good or as bad as they say. This movie however was just AWFUL. No body it seemed wanted to be there. It was as if everyone really needed the money or lost a bet. It made no sense what so ever. The only real positive thing I can say about it is that it was better than Bangkok Dangerous and believe me that's not a hard thing to accomplish.
although this is the second film in the Ghost Rider series,it's not a sequel per SE.it's a standalone film, and in that regard I found it to be very entertaining.you don't have to see the first one to know what's going on.Nic age returns of course,as the title character.he does a good job again,no surprise.the supporting players are all very good as well.on a side note,i thought the special were not as well done as in the first film, but that's just me.anyway back to the supporting cast.Violante Placido(probably most recently known from the Transporter TV series)plays the female lead/sort of romantic interest, acquits herself quite well, stealing most of the scenes she is in.Idris Elba(Star Trek Beyonnd and the upcoming Thor: Ragnarök)lends strong support here,as well.Johnny Whitworth (the TV series The 100 and the TV series Blindspot)is the comic relief and I found him very funny.Ciarán Hinds plays the main villain to good effect.Fergus Riordan plays Danny.i hope they will make a third film down the road.for me aside from the Dodgy special effects-(a minor complaint) I liked this film.for me,Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is an 8/10
As Johnny Blaze hides out in Eastern Europe, he is called upon to stop the devil, who is trying to take human form. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is an 1h and 36 minutes of a very long Metal Music Video as someone said on the internet and i have to be honest this movie has a mixed bag acting and a mixed bag of characters the devil in the first played by Peter Fonda was pretty nice now Ciarán Hinds who is a very good actor just wasn't the right person for the part and then you have this Carrigan character that is annoying or even Christopher Lambert that looks like he came out of 47 Ronin (a much better movie by the way) someone said that this is the worst superhero movie of all time i disagree that goes totally to Catwoman this one is just as dumb as Batman & Robin but it's a fun dumb movie that has dumb acting and dumb villains but has a really cool Ghost Rider design and some nice action sequences but as a whole? Disappointing and it sucks even more that they don't go with a Netflix TV show or at least a new movie reboot in this case and they chose to put Ghost Rider in Agents of Shield which is probably one of the worst decisions ever but will see how that turns out other than that Spirit of Vengeance is a dumb superhero movie that is fun when it wants to i give it a 6.9 out of 10 and a 2.8 out of 5
I had some time to kill this morning and there was nothing on the DVR, so I decided to see this movie, a sequel to the one that demonstrated that Nicholas Cage's performance can be improved by replacing his head with a flaming skull. Who says that CGI is worthless? In this one, Nick plays the scenes with his own face like an alky who has just woken with the shakes, because he has regrets over being a monster. Violante Placido plays the unmentionable love interest. She was raped by the Devil and gave birth to his son because you know what schmucks male-dominated governments are. They won't let you get an abortion even when you've been raped by the Devil, even though that happens all the time; plus Mother Love and an enormous rack. Idris Elba plays a monk with a Russian accent. Did he get rejected for the role of Rasputin by some racist producer and he's going to show them?Anyway, the story, such as it is, involves a lot of CGI fighting and fire and Miss Placido crawling on the ground so that her breasts hang down and look even larger. Apparently this was too difficult for one director, so they used two, but to make up for that, they only get one name each.I forgive Mr. Elba, because he is a British actor, and they don't turn down work. I suspect he shot his role when it turned out he had a week before playing Puss in Boots in a Christmas panto. Besides, he has since appeared in another LUTHER.
