The defense and the prosecution have rested and the jury is filing into the jury room to decide if a young Spanish-American is guilty or innocent of murdering his father. What begins as an open and shut case soon becomes a mini-drama of each of the jurors' prejudices and preconceptions about the trial, the accused, and each other.

12 Angry Men Audience Reviews

Linbeymusol Wonderful character development!
SanEat A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
mraculeated The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
arishsankar Parents need to know that 12 Angry Men is a gripping 1957 drama that makes much out of a simple situation (the ordinary deliberations of a jury) and setting (the room where they have been sequestered). Jurors smoke cigarettes throughout the movie. Biased jurors state as a "fact" that minorities drink too much alcohol. There is one "damn." A young man is accused of stabbing his father to death. Jurors nearly come to blows over disagreements about the case. One juror threatens to kill another in the heat of the moment. The fact that this jury is made up exclusively of white males should be explained to kids as a sign of the film's time period. Despite its age, this drama still has a lot to say about the principles on which the American justice system is based, as well as issues of prejudice.
adonis98-743-186503 A jury holdout attempts to prevent a miscarriage of justice by forcing his colleagues to reconsider the evidence. 12 Angry Men is the perfect example of a film that doesn't hold up at all, it's very boring and muddled and it's basically 96 freaking minutes of people talking to each other talking and talking over and over again and nothing literally happens and perhaps back in 57' it was a masterpiece but in 2018? It's just horrible. The acting was fine but nowhere near any oscars or anything cause i've seen way way better films than this.
hunterryanbelkin This film is ambitious and was way ahead of its time. The screenplay is one of the greatest screenplays of all time. The acting is great, but the writing is so ingenious and the dialogue flows so well that it's amazing how the 96 minutes goes by so fast. A remarkable achievement in film and a must-see for any lover of cinema.
