Why so much hype?
Good movie but grossly overrated
As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.
A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
I have not yet watched this movie, so this is a review based on what ive reading others have wrote, I desire to clarify some things. The world you all live in is not the original creation that God made, it is a twisted and corrupted version of it that has had insertions done by Satan, it has become one of his kingdoms, but he is limited at this time from ruling it until the coming fall of Babylon which happens in this generation. The universe is governed by a series of laws known as the Eternal laws, these laws determine the impact choices have, Satan understanding this system in ways used it to his advantage to gain power over the spirit intelligence's who incarnated as souls. His goal was to make people make choices that gave him power to act on their spiritual body, such it is that people are being acted on even now without realising it. Sin is a choice that impacts the spirit body negative aligning it to lower density vibrations hence when the soul leaves the body it is attuned into such channels and Devil takes hold of the soul in harvest. Evil things happen on earth because it is currently between Heaven and Hell, and is the middle ground in which a soul reveals what it is whether it is good or evil, this is shown in it choices. There is two spirits people heed unto one is the Devil which influences towards all sin and wickedness, and other is the spirit of God which influences towards all righteousness and good. Freewill is a universal law which all intelligence have however freewill does not allow determining the consequences of choice in itself. Therefore God has to allow souls to learn for themselves and being in a environment of good and evil, evil things happen because their is souls which make evil choices. God can not take away the freewill of the souls who choose to be evil, just as he cant take it away from those who choose to be good. All can do as they choose but the consequences of choice are determined by the eternal laws, people reap as they sowed, evil choices bring evil upon them justice is served by the eternal laws, God simply being the spirit of truth declares what is known to be and hence the judgement of God is simply the fulfilling of the eternal laws that govern all forces. Mankind was once destined all of them to eternal suffering and darkness, to be harvested at death by Devil and forever bound in the plains of Death and Hades, slaves to his Draconian kingdoms. The atonement by Christ allows a resurrection to lift those spirit intelligence's from the underworld to go through a judgement still based on eternal laws, that allows a measurement of consequence to be fulfilled that is a period of time rather than being lost forever. It was the only way this could be done and it took much for God to do so he himself did suffer more than mankind even knows, to gain power over Hell and Death to even resurrect all, even the people who hated God will be given a chance to be forgiven. For most of you, you wont comprehend what I am talking about until experience death and see for yourself the underworlds, the real truth of this world is dire and even Christians many of them went into Hellish dimension a time, as failed to meet true righteous requirements, as lived as hypocrites, this is why Christ said few would be saved, it was talking of those who are saved first, some souls experience Hell before can be resurrected. Properly repent is a change of heart a person no longer does the sins they repent of they call on Christ for aid and in his power he can remove the ties that bind them, it only takes one sin to enter the first level of Hell, each layer worse than the one above it and all measured and weighed at death according to choices people made and scale of good and evil determines how deep into underworld they go, not all sins are even covered by atonement, murder for example binds too deep into underworlds for that soul to be forgiven, until it makes a payment in Hell. Other lesser sins can be forgiven easily and the consequences removed. Christ has power to do this because he without sin took upon him the consequences of all sin, and all sin in itself to defeat and overcome and thus can act as a payment for souls if they will humble self, repent and live righteously. It is also required to accept the grace and mercy a soul believes, when a soul doesn't believe in Christ that soul is already dead in spirit and hence lost the connection to Light of God. The arms of mercy and grace remain open for all for now, but the days are fast approaching the grace period is over and souls reap as sow directly if did not repent in time until the next calling of the Lord. The Devil will come among mankind and be it ruler but will appear as a man as a God with others with him, he will not be known he is the Devil until after has bound many and it to late.
Whilst I completely understand some people's views and opinions that this film is bland and a mere 'promotion of Christianity' - I have to say that I thought the way it raises real life struggles and questions and then tries to give reasoning behind it is so refreshing. As a Christian who struggles every day with challenging God as to why there's suffering and pain in the world - I think this film, and of course the book too, brings hope and guidance with these issues. Yes okay, it is still a film, and it has to 'appeal to the masses' with its beautiful cinematography and scenery and characters (which it has in absolute abundance and certainly makes it an easy watch!!) - but underlying all of this is beauty is a raw subject matter that will get you thinking about God, the trinity and your relationship with them. I'm by no means a 'mega Christian'(!!) and I can understand why some people would watch this film and not completely get what they're trying to portray, but for me it really helped understand a little more about how and why. I'd highly recommend it - but keep an open mind, it is a little 'out there'!!
Firstly, if you believe in God or any kind of greater power, then this film is incredible and gives a you clear understanding of God.If you don't have any sort of belief then you may struggle to truly understand this and it will seem peculiar and weird. But regardless, go at with the mind-set of wanting to understand who God is, whether you believe in Him or not. It can help non-Christians understand what a Christian believes and it helps Christians understand how God works. He is love, pure love, and through this film, you can understand how even in the darkest times, His love is still there. Please don't be cynical. I feel like this film is a love or hate. But the majority of people who didn't rate it highly don't seem to believe in God and so they don't understand it. Go in to it with an open mind willing to learn.
I knew something wasn't the norm when too much time was taken over close spiritualist conversations. Sure enough the relationship with the daughter proved to be the peg that this movie hinged on. A lot of soulful moments learning about forgiveness. Not a movie to grab and hold one's attention and probably best watched alone so one can reflect upon life. Good for the soul.
