Good movie, but best of all time? Hardly . . .
Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Worth seeing just to witness how winsome it is.
After rewatching The Shining directed by visionary, Stanley Kubrick, I noticed subtle details that amazed me. So much effort was put into this and it is seen in every shot. Overall masterpiece and my favourite horror film ever.
From the very first scenes of all characters we know nicholson is mad.. the kid is mad...the wife is scared... there is no build up..and it is so long so boring...i watched the last half an hour skipping it... it has an 8.4 doesnt deserve a 4.8..
The template for forthcoming horror movies. Just Breathtaking
Although 2001: A Space Odyssey and A Clockwork Orange rank among the greatest films of all time, there's no doubt that Kubrick's The Shining is a flawless work of art with psychedelic, subconscious imagery and masterful filmmaking. It is an effective horror film for providing suspense. The framing and direction are as flawless and brilliant as we've all come to expect from Stanley Kubrick.
