Best movie of this year hands down!
Best movie ever!
Absolutely the worst movie.
The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
I thought the actors were superb, and the cinematography was excellent. Having seen the other three movies on the subject, this was the really the best. I can see how the Netanyhu family did not want it made, as it destroys the myth of Yoni Netanyhu, the hero (the basis of younger brother Bibi's political career).
THE CONCEPT IS GOOD, BUT THE STORY GETS LOST IN TOTALLY NON IMPORTANT CHARACTERS, SUCH AS A NORMAL SOLDIER, HIS WIFE AND HER DANCES!. I TRULY EXPECTED A GREAT FILM SUCH AS "RAID IN ENTEBBE" WITH DETAILED PLANNING, MILITARY PRACTICE AND AN AMAZING MILITARY RESCUE OPERATION WITH MANY DETAILS. BUT INSTEAD, DURING THE MILITARY OPERATION, IT SHOWS MORE OF THIS NON RELATED TO THE STORY WOMAN AND HER GROUP DANCE PERFORMANCES OVER AND OVER, WHICH IS KINDA ANNOYING AND SENSELESS. A BIT OF THAT IN THE BEGINNING OR END WOULD HAVE BEEN OK. BUT MIXING THE ACTUAL MILITARY RESCUE WITH PERFORMING DANCERS -WHILE ARTISTIC AND GREAT DANCERS-, IT SPOILS ALL THE MILITARY ACTION AND DRAMA, WHICH SHOULD BE THE FOCUS OF THE WHOLE STORY... THERE IS ALSO BARELY ANY MENTION ABOUT THE MAIN CHARACTERS AND THE FALLEN HERO OF THE WHOLE OPERATION YONI (YONATAN NETANYAHU) , AND ALSO FAILS TO SHOW OR MENTION IDI AMIN'S RETALIATION ON THE KENYAN CITIZENS FOR THEIR SUPPORT TO THE ISRAELIS. IT COULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT MOVIE IF ONLY SHOWING MORE DETAILS ABOUT ALL MAIN TRUE CHARACTERS AND MORE ABOUT THE ACTUAL OPERATION... SORRY, BUT I STICK TO THE FILM "RAID IN ENTEBBE" OF 1976.
The story of the hijacking and subsequent rescue mission was good enough on it's own. The character of Sarah and Batsheva Dance Company's performance distracted from the plot. Even the few IDF members, including Sarah's boyfriend, felt thrown in. The inter-cutting of the rescue and dance sequences were dizzying and distracting. This film is a great example of why less is more.
Sympathizes with terrorists. Also the director thought he would be creative and mix in a dance scene with the turning point of the film but it ruined the movie.
