Despite the increasing number of people entering the field of documentary filmmaking, historical subjects are less popular due to limited materials and the difficulty in handling them. Hu Jie has chosen to stay in this field and work hard. "I know that shooting these historical subjects is very dangerous, so how can you ask others to do it? It can only be their choice after they have seen your work." Since 2014, due to health reasons, Hu Jie has not been actively making documentaries. This year, in response to an invitation from the Lung Ying-tai Cultural Foundation, he still provided the film "A Sidelight of the 1968 Up to the Mountains and Down to the Countryside Movement." Over the past three years, he has primarily engaged in printmaking, producing about 70 to 80 pieces, in addition to many small print bookplates.

Around 80 slums have appeared which look just like the black townships but consist solely of white communities. We meet the racist political parties who fuel the hatred. The EFF advocate forcefully taking land back from white people and their leader, Julius Malema, is now the country’s most popular politician.

Set in the year 2065, players start from a simulacrum of the physical exhibition space, gradually exploring a virtual island that is itself an architectural collage; each new iteration of the game incorporates the locations of its exhibition. The first manifestation at K11 Hong Kong (2018) included a simulation of the gallery space and digital exhibition. Later versions at the Barbican in London and at the Singapore Biennale reflected the post-colonial context of futurity; ‘2065’ refers to the centennial year of Singapore’s independence.

Sakiba was never welcome to drink along a male colleagues in a local bar when payday comes, but she ends up dancing to the beats of well-known Yugoslav rock band celebrating her hero.
