Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

One thing I find to be very confusing about The Hillz is the choice of main characters. The introduction scene shows them harassing a store owner, and generally acting like jerks to more or less everyone around them. For a moment I thought this was a brilliant move on the part of the director, to portray these thugs in an honest way without turning them into heart-of-gold anti heroes. Turns out however, that these were supposed to be our protagonists, the guys we were supposed to root for, the director was simply unable to make them look even the least bit sympathetic. Another strange thing about this movie is how violent it is, how casually it deals with violence, and how little consequence there is to said violence. thug leader Duff goes around arbitrarily shooting people for no reason, without so much as a hint of emotion, and the police are nowhere to be scene. It could be a reflection on our society's blasé attitude to violence, but it is more likely he was just not able to portray violence in any serious way. When you get down to it, The Hillz is just a badly acted portrayal of a bunch of deeply unsympathetic characters (that goes for both protagonists and antagonists alike) engaging in some light-hearted random violence. How that is not more exciting is a mystery to me.

I was SO bored on a Sunday afternoon. That is my only excuse for watching this horrid movie. I am not the type of person that would pick it up in Blockbuster, I swear. But it was on, and nothing else was so I watched The Hillz. The acting was terrible, which was particularly sad considering the script seemed SO bad a 4th grader could have memorized it. However, one would hope a 4th grader would not *say* that much profanity. It is hard to give this waste of time even 1 star out of 10, but there is no zero option. I suppose the 1 is given for participation. Camera guy, you get a star for putting film in the camera! (Wish you hadn't, though.) Paris and other actors (using the term *loosely* here), way to go! You showed up for filming! *sigh*I was bored on a Sunday afternoon. I watched the Hillz. Now I am *more* bored. I think I may watch one of my little brother's high school plays my dad recorded on the family camcorder. Better acting, filming, etc.

Where to begin...this story explores the multifaceted issues faced by affluent white youth as they plunge into a world of chaos and disorder. Steve's plight of being torn between his dreams of being a baseball player and staying true to his posse reflects the universal theme of duty vs desire. Paris Hilton shines as the troubled young heiress struggling between marrying a rich man and following her heart. With stellar acting and a well driven plot, this movie is a straight on hit. It is a wonder none of these actors won an Oscar. Supported by a witty repertoire, this film will have a future fan base comparable to that of Napoleon Dynamite. The emotion present throughout the film is gripping and enthralling. An ending no one could predict brings an existentialist aspect to the film. Two thumbs up, I highly recommend this film!

This is quite possibly the worst piece of cinematic trash I have ever had the misfortune to witness. Thank God I didn't actually pay to watch any of it by either renting it or seeing it at the theater. I've seen better acting at high school plays and musicals and the scripting was so bad, it seemed like they were making it up on the spot. I think that the only highlight for me was a scene where Paris Hilton gets slapped, however she quickly ruins any further pleasure with her wooden acting (an insult to wood) and even more about two scenes later when she thinks that it's sexy when she finds out her ex lover killed her current lover. What I want to know is who was the idiot who read the screenplay and decided to dump money into trying to make this train wreck? I was fortunate enough that I didn't further burn out my eyes by watching any more of it - I caught it when I flipped the channel to it and had I not been distracted by some other things, I probably would have watched even less of it than I did. What a waste celluloid.
