It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.
This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
In my humble opinion Snooky (Stu Weltamn) was the star of the show. His good looks, Damon Runyon voice and his impressive nose made him among other things an icon.Along with the likes of Victor Mature with a slight touch of Ben Turpin. What an actor! He is a real sweet guy, a king of gentle thug with a great mug!Get Stu out there again! He is a bit long in the tooth and grey in the hair dept...(what he has left)What a character...Even his mother loved him!A Million dollar smile and charm of Rudy Valentino
