A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

Really great movie. I was waiting for almost 3 years for this great movie. Direction is great and all the characters are properly performed and really great work. Really great story line and all their actors did their best. looking forward to WAAR 2. It depicts basic problem of the area that is terrorism. it also shows the great work of Intelligence agencies and SSG commandos to eradicate this disease(Terrorism) from Pakistan.

I love films and I love films from everywhere Korean, Japanese, f French, Iranian as long it's a good film with good story. I am not limited to any genre either. I haven't been a big fan of Bollywood as mainly they are all musical with bad dance choreography, non sense songs and stories are not original. When I went to watch this film I was bit skeptical but after I watched Shoman's Khuda ke liye and wanted to watch Bol in the cinema but shame both were never released anywhere close to where I lived that time. On top, I think cinema tickets are just pricey now, going to cinema paying £10-£11 if you get popcorn and drink it adds up on top of that and if you have some annoying crowd there, some ill mannered teenagers or some bad parents who can't control their kids then your money is wasted and cinema cannot give you comforts of home so I only go to cinema once I am sure it is a great film, not good - Great. This film delivers. I dragged my partner who's non Pakistani with me to watch the film, I would have given this film solid 7-8 for overall - 5/10 for 1st half as it was bit dull and 5-10 minute scene where Ali Azmet is taking a shower was bit ridiculous and I would give 9 /10 for other half. I think major let down was CGI effects, some of them were brilliant some of them weren't at all and funny enough bad ones were small scenes like the scene where people from special forces doing checks on people profile's on their computer, looked bit fake or when Shaan has a nightmare where his wife and kid catches fire, fire looks fake completely. I know we don't have the resources same as Hollywood/Bollywood but if I make a film I know I can't give the quality I wouldn't use it. Other let down was no subtitles, they did not release the film anywhere in subtitles though the most of film was in English but many scenes were in Urdu. I think if you are releasing a film abroad you should release it in subtitles and especially if most of film is in English, did not make much sense to me but despite of all these, it was a brilliant film, making action film is not a walk in the park it's brave taking on a project like that, this also proves you can make a great film without any stupid songs and because it was his Bilal's first film. I have given 9/10.

I don't understand why this movie deserves an above 8 score. The story is all right. The acting, dialogue, direction is ridiculous. The background music feels just like noise. A few songs are all right. The movie claims to be based on actual events. Well the director should have done more research before suggesting Indian intelligence agency's playing any role in terrorism in Pakistan.Well i guess Pakistan just knows to accuse but there is a certain thing as proof which is needed to prove accusation as fact. The monster of terrorism is Pakistan's own creation and now they are blaming India for their own mistake. This is stupid. I also urge Indians to down-vote this movie as best as they can.

I agree with most reviewers here that this is an awesome film coming out of Pakistan. The production values are very, very high, and the story is relevant, and well executed. Furthermore, this presents a well-rounded, authentic view of Pakistan, and the war on terror as it is fought there. Naturally, it's not perfect. There are plot holes the size of grapefruits, and no one except Shaan can act to save their lives. Shan, on the other hand, has established himself as a true actor. His range of emotions are varied, and he can deliver all types of performances. That being said, I will be critical. I'll tell you why. If a movie of this quality can be made in Pakistan, then it should be expected that the next one would be better. We obviously have the talent as well as the technology. The film, like I said, was great. The only gripe I have is with the fight sequences. The hand-to-hand combat sequence near the end was terrible. But it's a start.Let's make the next one better!
