Jean-Marie Straub’s new film closes the circle. The years 1954–2013 are displayed as representing a film produced in collaboration with Danièle Huillet. Anaïs is twelve and bears the weight of the world on her shoulders. She watches her older sister, Elena, whom she both loves and hates. Elena is fifteen and devilishly beautiful. Neither more futile, nor more stupid than her younger sister, she cannot understand that she is merely an object of desire. And, as such, she can only be taken. Or had. Indeed, this is the subject: a girl's loss of virginity. And, that summer, it opens a door to tragedy.

The story-telling is good with flashbacks. The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.

This was one of the best films of Sharon in terms of acting, I actually liked her acting here more than Madrasta because you could really feel her emotions and her pain especially during the last part of the movie. The flow of the story was good as it showed the reasons why a marriage falls apart, how it can be fixed and until when does one have to say enough or still hold on. I hope that more people get to see this movie because this is really different from the usual love stories that we see nowadays and there is a restored version available now so people will appreciate it even more.

I am a student studying in Malaysia and I am so attracted with Sharon Cuneta's movie. Plus, "Minsan Minahal Kita" is the first Philippine movie ever that I watched and I found it so interesting and really a great movie. The movie is really touching me deep down of my heart and I believe who ever had watched this movie would have the same expression like me. Whatelse can I say here except I am being so proud with Sharon Cuneta because she is extremely a talented actress. She could really feel the play and did it perfectly. I don't mind watching "minsan minahal kita" once again..and gain..and again..because now I am really seeking to grab all Sharon Cuneta's Movies. She is the first person ever made me really admire Philippine's movies especially when she's acting. I really admire her a lot because of her skills, talents and attitudes. All the best to Sharon Cuneta.
