Admirable film.
I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
I can't say I've spoiled a bad film if I write that the basic premise released by its makers only arrives during the last 20 minutes. So a private eye is supposed to investigate a porn star for her jealous fiancé. She's been given anonymous threats and the hubby to be is the obvious suspect. But mainly what ruins this dreck is amateurish writing, directing and nakedness Surrender Cinema style--music without sound from the set. It would be tolerable but the music by Dennis Smith is ridiculously slow and quiet when the pacing speeds up so some more jazz and flash is needed. Zoe Paul is given a lot of dialogue where her Britishy accent doesn't help but add to the awkwardness. While the last few minutes are shadowed by mystery, anyone could guess the guilty party by elimination like I did. The film makers of course! They shortchanged us when it could have been better.
