Swellegant and elegant. Delux and delovely. Cole Porter was the most sophisticated name in 20th-century songwriting. And to play him on screen, Hollywood chose debonair icon Cary Grant. Grant stars for the first time in color in this fanciful biopic. Alexis Smith plays Linda, whose serendipitous meetings with Porter lead to a meeting at the alter. More than 20 of his songs grace this tail of triumph and tragedy, with Grant lending is amiable voice to "You're the Top", "Night and Day" and more. Monty Woolley, a Yale contemporary of Porter, portrays himself. And Jane Wyman, Mary Martin, Eve Arden and others provide vocals and verve. Lights down. Curtain up. Showtune standards embraced by generations are yours to enjoy in "Night and Day."

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

I am proud to say that I did the featured part as the western actor boy toy, in the scenes of the movie within the movie with the leading lady. I had a great time working on the film. I loved working with my co stars and the crew. This is a good film, and has good direction. The leading lady was a joy to work with, and a real pro, they were the best. You can see more about me, and what I am doing at my page here on IMDb. So come chat. Also, check out my films section and have fun. I would spend the money to buy the DVD. A bit of behind the scenes history, when I was on horseback doing a chase scene, one of the other horses broke and ran hitting my horse over, and I fell right in front of the camera, and hurt my splene, and needed to get medical help for it, but not till I finished all my scenes, and action. Rarely do I find a film that I rate a 1. This one qualifies. What a Waste of James Hong! And - How did they ever get HIM in it? And - WHY slap a Mustache on him? It's a long way from Chinatown, Two Jakes and Seinfeld! (The Chinese Restaurant episode!) he just licks their shoes and serves up platitudes. Most of the film is a Playboy softcore shoot - and Kathy Shower is outdone by her bit-role best friend at that! Clearly fake sexuality with Photo Shoot smiles all around. Much of the dialogue is James Hong offering Oriental Wisdom but rarely delivering it to Kathy and her cardboard Beau - dreary stuff! This is one of the worst films I've ever seen.

If there is one reason and one reason only to see this movie, or in this case, one name and one name only, it is Kathy Shower! I love Kathy Shower, she is so beautiful! However I feel she deserves a few better screen credits than this, this is not a bad way to go. She plays the stunt of a drunken actress who can't finish the film herself, and soon finds herself falling in love with the Studio's Executive. I must advise those of you who think like me, if you intent to buy this treasure, get the unrated version, at the beginning of the film Kathy Shower gets out of the shower naked, and in the R-Rated version she covers herself with a towel. That and many other reasons. Tally Chanel is also hot, but it is Kathy Shower that makes this film so great!
