Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.
It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Crystal Lake Victims Tell All (2004) *** (out of 4) Here's another featurette that appeared on the Friday THE 13TH box set collection but I'm not too certain about the title since there are more than just victims interviewed. Larry Zerner, Joseph Zito, Tom Savini ,William Butler, Lar Park Lincoln, Adrienne King, Amy Steel and Corey Feldman. Again, I'm not sure why these interviews couldn't have simply been placed with the single film stuff but what we basically have here are the cast members talking about what it was like being either stalked or killed by the masked maniac. If you're a die-hard fan of the series like I am then you're going to enjoy the interviews as there's some nice stories being told. One includes Feldman talking about his disappointment of not being able to see any nudity while on the set. Zerner also tells a nice story about what he was doing when someone from the film approached him about a part in the movie. Savini talks about how all the kids he worked with were excited to find out how they died and Zito talks about peoples reactions to seeing themselves killed. At just around 15-minutes there's nothing too ground-breaking here but fans should enjoy it.
