While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

"Nightmare Sisters" is a harmless, enjoyable b-movie which is more sex comedy than horror. I don't think it's even intended to be scary, and there is very little violence, but a lot of nudity and humour. The movie gets off to a shaky start with an obviously Caucasian man playing an Indian fortune teller, and doing the worst Indian accent since Peter Sellers. Why would a fortune teller be Indian, anyway? Somehow the crystal ball gets possessed, and then finds its way into the hands of three dorky sorority sisters. These three are played by the holy trinity of b-movie scream queens, Linnea Quigley, Michelle Bauer and Brinke Stevens. They begin the movie as stereotypically unattractive college co-eds. Brinke has borrowed Jeffrey Dahmer's glasses, Michelle Bauer is dressed up to look fat, and Linnea Quigley is wearing false buck teeth which actually only accentuate her beauty. Detractors might claim that we're only fans of Quigley, Stevens and Bauer because they're hot and get naked. This movie, along with most of their movies, showcases the charisma and talent they actually brought to the screen. Their portrayals here are funny and likable.Their nerdy male counterparts come over for a party the girls are possessed when they use the crystal ball in a seance (don't seances require ouija boards?) At first the girls turn sexy - and semi naked - but then they get a touch demonic, and a hilarious exorcist arrives to save the day.David DeCoteau seems to me to be a rarity among b-film makers. Going by any of his recent efforts, a strong case could be made that he is the worst filmmaker who ever lived. However, watching his '80s films like this one, one realises that he actually had some degree of know-how when he started out. I mean, obviously this isn't Citizen Kane, but it's actually pretty good. Now, his movies are just excuses to indulge in his tighty whitie fetish. Who keeps paying him to make movies? Who keeps watching them?

Producer & director David DeCoteau fumbles and bumbles his way through this hilariously awful schlock feature, which doesn't get higher marks if only because too much of the set-up is dull and draggy; some scenes simply go on too long. But when the movie starts cooking, it's highly amusing and extremely sexy. If it does one thing right, it's the way that it showcases the charms - physical and otherwise - of three iconic 1980s B movie hotties - Linnea Quigley, Brinke Stevens, and Michelle Bauer. It does have fun with the unlikely premise that Linnea, Brinke, and Michelle could ever have a hard time finding guys. They actually do a good job of "dorking it up" as Melody, Marci, and Mickey (respectively), three sorority sisters. Marci has picked up an unusual item at a flea market: a mediums' crystal ball. As we can already see from the pre-credits sequence, he's come to a bad end. When our heroines hook up with three equally nerdy guys, Marci gets the (not so) bright idea to hold a séance. The result? The babes get possessed, become MUCH more sexy, and intend to sink their teeth into various male victims. The three guys, Kevin (Richard Gabai), Freddy (Marcus Vaughter), and Duane (William Dristas) don't do what most guys would do; instead they manage to control themselves, and hire an exorcist. That damn exorcist ruins all the fun! But, seriously, folks, this overall is entertaining garbage with very low rent special effects, some amusingly bad lines ("He made an ash of himself."), and supporting performances that can charitably be described as not very good. But Linnea, Brinke, and Michelle seem to be having a great time (and show off their goods, which all get loving close-ups), so the viewer will probably be able to enjoy this as well.Recommended to fans of trash who don't mind a whole lot of silliness.Seven out of 10.

Three sorority sisters from Tri Eta Pi, buckteeth, frazzle headed Melody(Linnea Quigley), geeky Marci(Brinke Stevens)who often frequents flea markets for trinkets, and plump Mickey(Michelle Bauer)always in big clothes and snacking on whatever junk food is in sight, invite three dorks to a shindig of their own making. The three nerds are constantly abused by three jocks in their fraternity. The jocks threaten, through some made-up rule in a pledge book, to expel the nerds from the fraternity if they go to this party. But, the dorks sneak away anyway, and the jocks find out, hot in pursuit. Awakening a demonic spirit in a crystal ball Marci found at a flea market during a séance with the nerds, the three sisters are turned from geeky broads to delectable babes. There's a catch..these babes are possessed by evil making them succubus yearning to bite young eager horny males in the crotch, turning them into ash, and removing their souls. Will the nerds be able to save their gals from the evil driving them? Perhaps with the help of an expert in exorcism, found right in the phone book no less, they can..Look, when I rented NIGHTMARE SISTERS I knew exactly what I was in for..and I got what I expected. I rented it for titillation and tongue-in-cheek humor and got exactly that. I didn't really find the opening, where a fortune telling con-artist is looking into his crystal ball as a naive, rather dunderheaded(..quite wealthy) widow falls for his theatrical antics regarding the summoning of her husband, that funny, but I chuckled quite a bit just at the three female leads in nerdy disguise. It was quite obvious that they were having a good time playing against type. The film is indeed a light-hearted romp, a sex comedy which delivers the nudity expected as Quigley, Stevens & Bauer give their male(..and perhaps, female?)audience what they pined for. The special highlight is their bath tub scene where all three partake in soaping and washing each other with glowing smiles. Once the gals become succubus, they practically remain top-less trying to seduce any male in close proximity. The film certainly shows it's low budget in the photography, sound, & choice few locations. A great deal of the picture takes place at the house of our sorority sisters. A demon monster, behind the possession of our unfortunate sorority sisters, shows up at the end, as Perrin(Jim Culver)the exorcist who wants time and a half working such late hours, goes to battle in a spiritual warfare for the ages.

A trio of nerdy sorority sisters (Linnea Quigley, Brink Stevens, and Michelle Bauer) are possessed by Succubi while holding a séance with 3 fellow geeky guys. OK, how can you go wrong with no less then 3 Scream Queens in the flick? Funnily enough easily. First of all, the action doesn't even begin to start until about 30 minutes in, that alone wouldn't be cause for alarm, but this is an 80-minute B-movie, so that's more then 1/3rd of the film dedicated to lameness.True the girls remain topless for a good deal of the remaining film, but, aside from a good lengthy bubble bath scene, nothing you can't see in any other of their respective movies. Films that don't almost put you to sleep in the first half hour. Which leaves the acting and humor to keep this flick alive. The acting...well heh, let's move onto the humor. The humor is extremely cornball. Skip this one.My Grade: DDVD Extras: blooper reel; 3 stills galleries (dedicated to each of the 3 scream queens in various states of undress); Director & producer commentary;a second commentary (this time with Brink Stevens, Michelle Bauer, and Richard Gabai)
